The 3-4 OLB is analogous to the 4-3 DE, so if anything, it set the market for elites at that position, not Luke. 

 

This may have been an issue if Greg Hardy kept his nose clean and we were still negotiating with him somehow at this point but it's highly unlikely.

Right now Lawrence Timmons is that highest paid inside linebacker at around 9.5 million. I see Luke's contract easily averaging 11 million

I don't think it will Honestly... Luke is not a person that is money hungry, does he want to be paid decent? Sure, but I honestly think he will be happy with 6 Mil a Year.

I dont think Luke will take an active role in his contract talks. He seems more like a "let my agent handle that" kind of guy.

Unfortunately, that probably isnt a good thing for us.
