What will they find on the surface of Pluto tomorrow?

I thought Pluto was a gas planet?

it's neither gaseous nor terrestrial.  It's supposedly composed of rock and ice (like a larger comet).  It mostly resembles the composition of a terrestrial planet, but when it was declassified it became part of the Kuiper belt (which is a lot larger than the asteroid belt).

A few satellites within the SS came from the belt too.

Just found this article from a few years ago and thought it was interesting that they rendered something that looks similar to the first detailed images of Pluto. The closeness of the color and contrast of the features to what we now know is Pluto is pretty brilliant.
