Would you support an MLB team in Charlotte?

Why do they deserve a team? They had one and didn't support them.

they were screwed over by marlins owner jeffrey loria who alienated the fanbase and ran the franchise into the ground, just like he did with the firesale of the marlins and subsequent relocation to miami and renaming, before loading up the payroll with talent, losing, and then unloading that talent. Expos have a good history, a ballpark in place, and a fanbase wishing for a team, similar to how the seattle area longs for the supersonics to return.

1) The Marlins have never relocated or renamed. They've always played in Miami and they've always been the Marlins. All they did was move out of the Dolphins football stadium, located in the metro area, into an actual baseball stadium located downtown. The "Florida" to "Miami" thing was just part of the deal with the city of Miami, who funded the stadium.

2) He win a World Series championship in 2003, the year after he bought the team. Only 9 of 30 franchises have won a WS in the last 20 years, and he's one of the 9.

3) Not to be the bearer of bad news, but pro sports teams are corporations that exist to make the owner, investors, sponsors, etc money.

4) Because Canada.

1. relocated as in relocated into a new shiny stadium. should have worded that better.

2. they had one successful season in which they played very well with a talented team. Loria had the team blown up over the next few years, beginning the trend of Loria splurging and then blowing up the team when not instantly gratified.

- Let starting catcher Ivan Rodriguez walk after being named NLCS MVP

- Starting 1B Derek Lee traded

- traded Juan Pierre and Mike Lowell (along with SP Josh Beckett) a couple years later

- Traded RF Juan Encarnacion the midway thru the next year

- SP Brad Penny traded the next year, SP Mark Redmond also traded, Pavano walks

3. I have nothing against Charlotte getting a MLB team. i hope they do (preferably from Tampa or another failed franchise) get a team, but I think Montreal would get a 2nd chance before Charlotte because they have more of a market for a team. Charlotte would take away from Atlanta and Washington's fanbase, something MLB would be hesitant to do.

4. if montreal does get a team, i hope they get a better field than the poo dome toronto plays in
