The NFL Top 100 says it's J J Watt.  Some on here agree.  Some don't.

So, excluding Panther players (for obvious reasons) tell me who gets your vote for best player in the league.

If you wanna name the best Panthers player as well, that's fine.  But I'm primarily looking for who is the best non-Panther player in your opinion.

When you're comparing offense and defense and including any and all positions, I don't see how you could even vote until you define what 'best player' means. I don't care how good Watt or any defensive player is. If you're down a couple of TD's and time's running out, you want one of the best QB's, and not THE BEST defensive player. 

What's a better vehicle? A hot sports car or a truck? Depends on what you intend to do with it.

Brady stands alone in my opinion. He's done more with less than anyone I've seen in my lifetime as a football fanatic. And he's been doing it for over a decade. I truly believe Cam has the ability to develop to that level and achieve similar sustained success over the next decade.

Just because I hate LBJ with a passion doesn't mean I don't know he's the best player on the planet right now.

      we'll get a great player that fits our many needs.  Spent the last few weeks debating which to go with, and I ended up with McMillan.  That and another TE in the 4th (we have 2 picks in that round) will complete our offense for Bryce.    If he's not there I'll ecstatic with the DT or Edge.  I heard Carter is still raw, but Johnson is about the safest pick in the draft.  He's an island.  Matched with Horn, our rushers will have more time.   Not wild about another corner in the first, but it is a need.

      Almost the tortoise and the hare.  Wax on, Wax off.  Did the humility of getting benched work?  I think the light came on and they have limited him to first read, check down.  Instead of having him progress through two or more reads.  I think he learned to adjust the offense to protect him by motioning TEs or moving RBs.  He is getting to the LOS sooner--able to read the defenses and anticipate the blitz--that is the area where he has improved the most--before he was going into the fetal position when he saw a blitz.  Now he is navigating the pocket--his movements remind me of Brees or Wilson--and I did not see that before.

      Legette is killing us

      Stroud had one of the best rookie QB seasons of all time and the Texans still went and traded a second round pick in the offseason for yet another very good receiver for him.  Was that an indictment of Stroud, needing elite talent?  Or is it simply wise for teams to invest in their young QBs? This is such an odd argument to make as a Panthers fan who had to witness the trash we gave Cam at receiver over his career here.  Wouldn't you have rather us paired him with elite talent?  The parallels run pretty deep because we even drafted Benjamin/Funchess in the 1st and 2nd rounds in back-to-back drafts.  Except Benjamin/Funchess as a duo were much more formidable than Legette/Mingo in their first years together (yes Benjamin was injured, but I mean on paper in terms of talent + ability).  I mean, as much as we clown on Funchess in here...Funchess' rookie season and Legette's projected rookie season look pretty damn similar on paper except Legette is playing ~30% more snaps than Funchess did.  Imagine giving Cam Devin Funchess as his #1 WR and thinking "yep...that's good enough.  He's a first overall QB, we don't need to give him elite talent at every position".  I think Legette is promising and I'm excited about his potential, but I sure as hell ain't putting all my eggs in that basket.
