I liked watching Stabler because he was clutch and tough. I also heard he was a real partier and really liked to drink.

I'm old enough that I remember watching Ken Stabler play.

I also remember the day I heard the crazy news that the Oilers and Raiders swapped starting quarterbacks, Stabler and Dan Pastorini.

There hasn't been a trade like that since that I can recall.

I had a Kenny Stabler football as a kid. Great guy.

RIP ken stabler. I met ken at the charlotte motor speedway in the late eighties. Me and buddy were hanging out in a corporate VIP suite after the race having a few beers...we were the only two left. Some guy stuck his head in the door and asked if he could join us, we said sure. He sat down and we started chatting a bit and I realized who he was. He was very nice and even allowed me to try on his super bowl ring. How cool was that, What a great day!

Stabler played most of his career with rules that allowed receivers to be roughed up beyond 5 yards.  For his time, he was one of the best.  IMO, if he played with the rules of today, his numbers would be significantly better.
