He is also pointless, especially at that salary, on a team with Westbrook and Durant. Steven Adams fits what they need from that spot a whole lot better.

On the bright side, in order to pay for this, any of Novak, Morrow, Perry Jones or Augustin could be salary dumps.

Durant isn't leaving. IMO Westbrook is the one who will leave.

idk. DC is his Durant's hometown and Mafioso Pat Riley will manipulate the cap (see the Dwade 1 year deal) to attempt to grab Durant. Might not be up to the Thunder in the end, especially if they struggle this year.

He was 5th among guards with 35 votes for all defensive team honors. Defensive rating of 102, third in steal percentage, 2.4 defensive plus minus, defensive win share of 2.8. All higher then Chris Paul, who's usually considered the best defensive PG in the league. Top 5 in steals and steal percentage 3 straight years..... Sure seems like he can play defense...

Kanter is of the Jefferson/Vucevic mold. A big man who can score 20/10 but can't defend to save their life.

Considering all the scoring Portland lost, it makes sense. Lillard needs help. 

Honestly Kanter is far worse than both, which says a lot. Even Ibaka couldn't keep that bum in check. Kanter is by far the worst defensive player currently in the NBA.

The steals that he gets really pumps those numbers up. I think he is a good defensive player (especially at playing the passing lanes, he is prime D-Wade level), but not great.
