smith or reggie wayne

I am in a keeper fantasy league and It is hard not to be biased when picking players. anyway I have reggie wayne got him as a 2nd pick, someone wants to trade me straight up for steve smith. I know peyton is ridiculous and they are a throw first team. where as panthers being a run first team throws less. One not biased would say this was an easy pick (wayne) but I love smitty, like man crush love. anyone want to offer there opinion. and yes I am retarded. :sifone::sifone::sifone:

peyton loves throwing to gonzalex. says he can throw to him with his eyes closed because he knows where gonzlaez is where he is supposed to be.

going to be seeing a lot of peyton to gonazalez this year. that's the only thing i would worry about with wayne. jake is throwing to the TEs more this year and he ahs another couple good receiving options in moore and goodson. is he going to be using all of that consistently or sticking with 89?

toss up right there. flip a coin. i'd more likely go with smith but it's going to be close. smith isn't likely to fall down on the 1 as much as he did last year.

I would take Smith if its a PPR league because he gets more of those hitches and what not but even if it isn't its going to be close with them. Even missing two games last year he had 2nd most yds in the league I believe. But the Colts aren't going to have much of a running game this year and Wayne is the #1 there so he could see his #s improve without Marvin or Addai having a good season. I guess I would take Smith just because he gets targeted so much and can do so much after he gets the ball in his hands, triple covered or not!

I don't think it's an easy choice at all. I'd give a slight edge to Wayne because he'll probably have more TDs. I think Smitty will have more yards but his TD numbers have gone down each year since 2005. I don't see him having more than 6-8 TDs with our running game taking the bulk of them.

    • You keep rounding up to $10 in order to exaggerate your point which usually means your point is very strong.  Bijan is making 5.5 millions a year to Chuba's 8.5 and they used an absolute premium pick on him in a top 10 pick.  That pick vs were we picked Chuba or even Brooks are two very different draft prospects.  Chuba has the attitude and skillset we want to build a better team and culture.  He has shown he can be a top RB and we are paying him a moderate salary. You also need to look at the contract again.  Only $15 million is guaranteed.  It could look very similar to that Henry 2 year $16 million dollar one you are suggesting we do instead.  Always look at the guaranteed vs the total money.  If Chuba gets the total money he is cooking and we are happy.   You want us to use assets elsewhere because we have so many holes but you also want us to draft another WR in the first, probably top 5 this year will all of the other holes we have on the roster.  To me those two opinions don't line up.  Back to back 1st round picks on WRs when we have so many holes.  I think we are just keeping good young players that want to be here and Chuba fits the mold.  TMac could also fit that mold.
    • I dont believe Bryce is the future at all but I also dont believe we should use a first on Sanders or Ward. Grab someone later in the draft or wait until next year is what I would do but if I were always right I would be a GM so theres that too I guess.
    • I swear there are like 6 people on this godforsaken website that must be paid just to piss and moan all day in these stupid ass threads, for years on end, about fugging everything. Always something to whine about. If y'all aren't getting paid to professionally bitch about this team at every opportunity you need to reevaluate your lives because that ish is pathetic for grown ass men to be doing.  There are at least 50 other voices of reason in here. They're all smarter than you kneejerking perpetual contrarians. It's a fine contract. Our previous dipstick GM ran this team like some college kid that read a few Investopedia articles on technical trading and started throwing daddy's money at every positive indicator he saw - look what happened when Fitt drafted by RAS because he couldn't identify talent if it was footballs deep in his wife in the war room. It's a football team and this preoccupation with analytics, in this instance the positional value of RBs, is like 30% of the equation. It's not wholly inaccurate, but it requires a lot of context and, going back to the trading analogy, an understanding of the fundamentals. This is a sad, crappy organization that needs some winning attitudes in the locker room and on the field. $15 mil guaranteed over two years is nothing compared to the intangible value he brings, and the message the contract sends, not to mention his stellar work ethic and consistent improvement.
