Florida State dumps QB

Mr. Scot

Nope. Not doing that at all. Just wondering why some folks refuse to acknowledge that she had something to do with the way things turned out. Oh I forgot, she has ovaries.

You might not realize this, but when you say stuff like that, you come off sounding like a guy looking for a reason to justify hitting a woman.

If that's not how you wanna sound, you might wanna dump the whole 'ovaries' schtick.

I never have and never will  hit a woman, and I don't think the football player was justified in this case either. I have called him barbaric, neanderthal, idiot, and can think of a few more descriptive words to describe him. I'm just saying there is blame on both sides, and she doesn't get a free pass just because she has....you know the rest.

You never hear about little wormy guys attacking big burly football players because they know they would get beat down and nobody would care so why do weak assed women constantly think they can haul off and hit big ass football players and get away with it untouched?

The fact is, just because someone pissed you off or punched you, doesn't mean you should "Knock Them Out" or "Protect Yourself" Think about it, is it right to punch somebody just because they punched you? Nope, it is not. You honestly think that "Slap/Punch" hurt the football player, I doubt it. As I stated before, he used "Excessive Force" on the situation which makes him the guilty party. IMO she is a tough girl, for taking a punch like that.

Also, What was he doing at a bar? he is only 19? Shouldn't he also get an underage drinking charge also? Legal drinking age is 21.

Well said, and I think you are absolutely right. He is a guilty party. I only question if he is the only guilty party in this. BTW, I saw news reports that said it was a "tavern", whatever that means.

This is probably my last post in this topic....can we go back to arguing about Bersin? :)

I think that gets pretty lost in the "White Knights vs. Realists" argument here. I don't think anyone here thinks he was right to punch her. Especially because since he is bigger and stronger it really doesn't take much for it to be "excessive force." The majority of altercations have some level of equal blame to go around and this one isn't any different. Alcohol and being a dumbass never mix well and you have two pretty good examples here.

Agree as well on her chin. Didn't look like her legs buckled any. Weak defense though, probably should have freed that other arm or at least moved her head to avoid the counter punch. Looked like pretty poor foot work as well, really gonna need to get back in the gym and work on that. Maybe she can get with Mayweather Sr. and get some tips.

I just think there are rarely any absolutes, so when someone says, "It is NEVER okay to hit a woman" I just disagree. By and large, those are minority cases but they do exist.

If Ronda Rousey ever came charging after me, I am definitely taking a swing at her. It's the only shot I have at continuing to have four limbs.

The chick in this story isn't anything close to Ronda Rousey.

Bye bye arm.

It's the only shot I have! Probably can't outrun her, DEFINITELY not going clinch with her, kicking would be an even worse idea....miracle haymaker is the only legit option. She has a very untested chin as well, so it gives me that 0.1% chance.

Well, there's also the "curl up in a ball and say please don't hurt me" defense.

I might recommend that as a better option in the situation you describe.

Yeah but will the ball be tight enough to avoid a limb being wrenched out? I am not sure I trust my grip strength that much. Choke is always an option but I would have to think that if she is charging me that bad intentions are meant and that is really mercy.

    • Brian Baldinger on NFL Network (per Tim Weaver on Panthers Wire): "I feel like they're building a monster on that side of the ball right now and I think that's how they have to play," Baldinger stated. "They have to play like they can shut teams down this year. I think it's on them to really guide this team right now." https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/panthers/2026/05/22/panthers-nfl-offseason-defense-brian-baldinger/90215555007/   So, do you believe him? Today, May 25, I do believe Baldy without any evidence otherwise. I think it's much more likely for our defense to take another marked leap (right into the top 10) than our, basically, bottom-third offense. In my mind, Lee Hunter is a literal and figurative huge addition up front, and right behind him is perhaps our biggest exclamation point on defense: Devin Lloyd. Lloyd's experience and track record of solid production should be the anchor of our defense that should help lift the floor of the entire unit. No more getting gashed on runs, eh? But, as important as Lloyd will be, the most prolific addition to the defense could be Jaelen Phillips.  In my opinion, whether or not the Panthers can demonstrably show that the defensive squad, and perhaps the team in general, is actually ready to assert itself as a perennial postseason presence lies within its ability to credibly rush passers. Phillips was paid handsomely to produce results. Now I know that most of you are probably thinking that sacks are the key. Moreover, I'm not one that is even going to tell you that his pressures are the key (you know, since Phillips's pressure rate has been highlighted over perhaps pedestrian sack numbers). The key, at least in my mind, will be the marked growth of Nic Scourton and/or Princely Umanmielen. I really do believe that they are the understated X factors that the "success" of our season may depend upon.  I'm not worried about the interior (perhaps over-optimistically so). I'm also not too concerned with our corners, as they are quietly one of the best duos in the league. Sure, the safety position has more question marks, Trevon Moering is an exclamation point, and Nick Scott, though less of an exclamation point, still has plenty of experience. With the infusion of youth, size, length and energy, I can see a good mix that will result in positives from the DBs once Ejiro Evero figures everything out. And, we should all know, a credible pass rush provides the defensive backfield with opportunities to shine, and this is but another reason why I believe that Scourton and maybe Umanmielen will be key to taking up residence in the postseason. On an off note, and as a reminder, if the defense is doing its job effectively maintaining momentum with field position, if not outright laying down the pathway with short fields and such, this should make it easier for Bryce Young and the offense to effect points on the board in terms of TDs. Where the defense goes, the offense will have every opportunity to follow.
    • Its gonna be loud as hell in Montreal tonight.  But don't make any big turnovers or defensive lapses and I like our chances.
    • Canes need to get one of these two away games. Would prefer both but get 1. Go back to Raleigh 2-2. Win that one. Then you only need one of the next two.     I saw a different level of focus I’ve never seen from the canes in ECF since 06.  Also, Montreal has been bad at home in the playoffs. Get on them early, win the game.
