Florida State dumps QB

Yes, she is blameless with regard to getting punched in the face.

I assume you think differently?  That you think she deserved it?

You see, I think it comes down to just simply answering the question: Did this girl deserve to get punched in the face?

If your answer (like mine) is "no", then she is blameless with regard to getting punched in the face.

If your answer (like, I suspect, yours) is "yes", then you think she deserved getting punched in the face.

Doesn't matter what happened before in the least, doesn't matter the words the Football Hero Defenders want to imaginarily place in her mouth.  Just answer the simple question.

IMO, she is definitely the blame for her behavior, which helped instigate this whole situation. Just because she has ovaries doesn't mean that she is relieved of all responsibility for her actions.

He is definitely at fault for his barbaric and unacceptable reaction to her threats (I never have and never will condone that at all), and she is definitely responsible for her part by raising her fist, then throwing the first punch.

I believe in the right of someone defending themselves. I really do. However, I have been Punched, Kicked, Pushed  and scratched by girls and guys alike and never once did throw a punch. I have thrown a punch on a few other occasions but the disagreement was going on for days or weeks, not some random stranger. I guess I am more reserved when it comes to fighting.  I honestly don't like to fight, think it could be solved other ways.  I also don't like to fight because I know if I get into a fit of rage,  can do things or hurt things I really don't mean to.  So IMO,  I don't care that she's knees you or throws a punch, you can be reserved and not hit back.

Dang Doc, what is it about you that makes everybody want to beat the poo out of you???? (jk) :)

I'm not going to split hairs here about what I said, the post can be plainly read, and if I have to explain it to you, you're beyond reasoning with.

You clearly have an axe to grind about a double standard. Quite frankly I don't give a poo. That's your problem.

For my own perspective, I do not go around picking fist fights with anyone, man or woman. So no, I do not advocate beating up anyone for petty reasons, male or female. Fighting in general is entirely pointless, particularly over something nobody is going to give a damn about the next day, like a bar spat. Unless your life, or the life of a loved one is literally in danger, it's best to walk away.

Yeah, but what if she's an assassin like Kurt Busch's girlfriend?

Guys never know if some little five foot tall, hundred pound girl might actually be a secret international ninja assassin. So it should be okay for guys to hit girls because you never know which ones are assassins.

YOU.

NEVER.

KNOW.

A little girl might even raise her fist at you and make you faint from fright.  Can you just imagine the fear and horror?

I always remembered a class I took about Self Defense. "During the course of defending yourself you cannot use force greater than what it takes to stop the attack. Where this line is drawn depends greatly on what state you are in, the type of attack, the victim and the attacker. There are so many variables that it often becomes hard to define what is self defense and what is a counter attack"

" If you are at a nightclub/Bar  and someone hits you, it is safest to walk away from the incident as opposed to hitting the person back. If the person follows you and continues to attack you, it then makes it necessary to hit back in order to stop the attacker. Often people think in this situation that if they are hit first and retaliate, they will legally be off the hook. Not so, at the very least you will both be charged with disorderly conduct"

By this Legal Definition he used "Excessive Force" and therefore he is the Instigator.

This may have been said before, but I have a few questions related to this incident:

We live in a world where PR is the decider of right and wrong.  Since there would be a video release, Jimbo Fisher immediately suspends him indefinitely (also knowing he has a qb transferring in from Notre Dame for this season).  However, he defended Winston amidst more serious allegations.  (Sure, he suspended him for one game, but think about the reason).

Ray Rice is given a minor suspension, but when the video surfaces, the penalty is more severe.  Even after that, no team will touch him.  Is it that they are offended by the crime, or by the viral, visual evidence flying around the internet?

I just found it rather humorous that this kid would get suspended when it is not clear that he was the aggressor and it is not clear that he was not assaulted first.  However, one thing is clear--it looks bad for FSU.  In the aftermath of one QB accused of sexually abusing a female, could they afford another QB scandal?

It is my contention that the circumstances is why this suspension is so quick and severe, when they wanted the legal process to play out (with no real backup qb and a national title on the line) in the much-more-serious Winston situation.  Fisher has a few options now at qb, they are not in a title chase in June, and there was video evidence that looked bad.  Had he been the only qb and had this been in December and had there been no video evidence, and had the program not just been through a qb controversy,  would Fisher have taken a stand?

No.

I agree she should take some blame for incident.

Why do you and others keep pointing out they she hit him first without acknowledging she did it because he was grabbing her arms.

Bottomline... this guy is a pos (for punching a woman in the face) and a coward (for running away like a little bitch).

I finally got to see the video in its entirety on a monitor rather than just the clip of the punch on a cell phone screen. The video clip of just the punch shows why the full story is absolutely necessary. I still say that the kid was in the wrong for having blasted her as hard as he did. I cannot say however that I would have been upset if he had slapped the s*** out of her instead. She was the one that initiated the entire conflict. He was trying to get past her and wasn't being rude about it. She somehow caught feelings from it and said something to him to which he responded. She raised her fist in a threatening manner and we know the rest of the story.

He should've been suspended for a couple of games, not kicked off the team. She should have charges brought against her, especially if she used a hate slur.

I get it now. If someone has ovaries, she doesn't need to have any self control and can't possibly be held responsible for her words and actions. That means she can threaten, demean, punch, slap, or kick any person with testicles and bears no responsibility whatsoever for what happens next. Got it.

Exactly what kind of actions would you suggest make a small woman deserving of a punch in the face by a man who's big and strong enough to play college football?
