Women USA vs Japan World Cup...

Everywhere else people are celebrating this great and historic win. Meanwhile here we have troglodytes complaining that soccer is stupid and that the women aren't hot enough.

I always enjoy the time travel that is the Huddle.

Too bad the Men's National Team will never win a World Cup lol

Because outside of the US soccer is the biggest sport literally everywhere in the world. The best athletes from every other country play soccer. Here the top athletes all play football, basketball, baseball, hockey, tennis, & golf ahead of soccer. While soccer is growing rapidly in the US, it's still an afterthought compared to all those other sports. For US women, soccer is the biggest sport. And US women have owned soccer for quite awhile. If soccer was the biggest male sport in the US they'd be the top dog in men's soccer.

I agree. What if Michael Vick along with the NFL's fastest, shiftiest DBs grew up playing soccer, with over a decade of top notch coaching from elementary school thru college? And you had Calvin Johnson in the middle to direct headers into the goal? And Richard Sherman as a well trained goalie? Our men's team would be as dominant as our women's team.

I feel like I hexed us in 2011 before the game started when I made a bet with my buddy for the bar tab about it gon to PKs.  4 years later and I'm still stoked about last night's victory.  Awesome game ladies!

Holy poo, and this why America is viewed as pompous and ignorant. You do realize straight-line speed and size are NOT crucial measurements for a successful soccer player, right?

Lionel Messi is a horrible athlete (sucks at Basketball and Track and Field) but makes the best defenders look silly with his dribbling, agility, passing, timing, and low-center of gravity.

Cristiano Ronaldo (who is a far superior athlete in comparison) ran a 4.7 in a 40 yard dash and couldn't bench 200 lbs yet he embarrassed your defenders with his dribbling and passing in that World Cup game.

Gareth Bale, on the other hand, is a Cheetah (ran a 4.32 in the 40) and strong as an Ox (can fend off multiple defenders) but he can't hold onto the ball or create his own shot or finish for that matter.

What do you mean your defenders?

Do you think Michael Vick only has straight line speed? He's a gifted athlete that can change direction at the drop of a dime, just like most of the athletes in NFL secondaries and offensive backfields. Now imagine he was introduced to soccer at age 5 and had 20+ years of coaching, practice, and league competition. You dont think he would be able to do what Messi can do with the ball?

Even then, our men's team had a strong showing in the last world cup, barely losing to #1 Germany (1-0), then dominating Portugal with your precious Ronaldo. Didnt Portugal need a last minute goal just to tie us? And then we took the #2 Belgium team to overtime. Now imagine we had a few extra elite athletes that grew up playing soccer instead of football.

If MIchael Vick was on the USMT then we'd just have a dog killer on our National Soccer team.

No thanks.
