Frank Kaminsky looking good in summer league

Mitch McGary with the horrible pick and roll defense.  Frank had open looks all day.  He looks pretty smooth in glorified YMCA ball.  Hope he develops and is a legit baller.  That's all I wanted at 9, and with Winslow there it seemed so obvious to me.  Well maybe ol' Frank is gonna prove a lot of us wrong.  And then promptly not re-sign with us because of it.  J/K, bird rights.

That's the problem I have with the NBA in general. There aren't nearly as many great basketball players now as there was in the 80/90s. Great athletes, yes, but they aren't skilled. Even the great LeBron James isn't even that skilled as a fundamental basketball player. He is a shitty jump shooter, has 0 post moves, & is a poor rebounder. No, I'm not impressed by LeBron leaping past his own teammates to grab defensive boards & pad his stats. LeBron is a freak of nature athlete;

I think Lebron is more skilled than you give him credit for, however I agree with your post. An even better example would be Dwight Howard, who I believe is the true poster child of the athletic player who gets by while not developing skill.

I look at him as a taller antawn Jamison. He's gonna be solid, maybe not a perennial all-star, but definitely could be starting from game 1.

LOL!  What?  Jamison was one of the quickest players on the bounce I've ever seen.  He could jump twice quicker than most guys could jump once.  The guy seemed like he was playing on a logo stick.  Kaminsky and Jamison couldn't be much more different as players and as athletes.

Kaminsky can be a dangerous complimentary player on offense, but I think he'll almost certainly always be a defensive liability.  I basically view him as a less athletic version of Brad Miller.  Smart player with the ability to stretch the floor with his shooting ability from the 5 spot.

You clearly dont know what a back down over the shoulder hook is. Bron was doing that with regularity in the playoffs.

I think LeBron's post game leaves a lot to be desired. It's the one area of his game that will need to improve significantly as he gets older if he wants to stay at the top. He's never been committed to the post. And I have never understood why. He should have been dominating games in the post years ago like a Magic Johnson instead of chucking 3s.

I cant comment for how arrayed his post game is. But he certainly has the over the shoulder hook down pretty good.

The games I watched, he was doing a much better job of attacking the basket and posting up instead of taking dumb 3's and fall aways (minus the end of the game situations)

He took 5 threes a/game this season. Way too many for a guy with his size & skill set. He should be under 3 a/game and in the post more.

I don't want to get this thread too off-topic. So I'm done talking about LeBron.
