Kevin Love and Tristan Thompson resign with the Cavs

Recommended Posts

they brought back shumpert 4 yr 40 million as well

when they resign james they are gonna be at like double the projected cap

Exactly how much is the cap going up?! After they give LeBron his max deal they'll be paying LeBron, Love, Kyrie, Thompson, Shumpert, Varejao nearly $500m.

This is why I'll never enjoy the NBA, there should be a max cap, none of this luxury bs. Implement a max cap, if you go over you lose draft picks and lose your top salaried player while still paying him money owed off the cap.

Actually, it should be the opposite. The limit on salaries is what allows players to take pay cuts and join forces. If LeBron hit the open market and was allowed to get his real value to a franchise  (50-75 million a year) the playing field would level out as teams prioritized according to their budgets, similar to baseball.

That's my problem with baseball as well, how can a team like Houston only fielding a $44 million team compete against a $235 million LA Dodgers team? The problem with the NBA and MLB is over saturation of the market. The NFL is lucky it can draft from as talented of a field of players from college that 32 teams can be respectable. The MLB is basically 20 competitive teams and 10 farm teams while the NBA should probably only field 24 of so. Players like James distort the market because while he should earn $75 million a year based on his impact, he can take less due to endorsements and the endorsements he brings to teammates. I just don't want a scenario in the future where a team like Brooklyn fields a $200 million roster and Charlotte fields a $60 million roster.

Actually, that $44m Houston team is better than the $235m Dodgers. You kinda disproved yourself.

    • Okay, so answer this one then, since you said you can't answer something you don't think will happen...... You have said numerous times in the past that even though you want them, you don't think Deion will allow us to take his son or Hunter. You then taking Ward #1 over T-Mac just because he's the QB?
    • Thanks for that sounds very interesting.   I have a scientific mind usually and don’t believe in wide spread conspiracy theories but with the NBA it’s so obvious.  The fuggin rigged draft is something only an idiot wouldn’t see.  But the NBA is 100% about big market money.  It’s not even a real league.  It’s 10 teams that have a shot.
    • This response is absolutely and utterly insane, I've literally this same thing out multiple times in previous posts about mock drafts, like a bunch of times. I've never once denied it's a possibility of them going #1, I've just said that I wouldn't take them there. And YET AGAIN, you're proving that you don't believe they are elite QB prospects, you literally just said "first prospects off the board REGARDLESS OF TALENT" It's literally what I've been saying this whole time, these QB's don't have the draft grades to deserve that pick.  They're only being mocked there because mocks are trying to predict the draft, not saying who deserves to be drafted where.   Dude, this is exactly why I question your reading comprehension skills.  You keep trying to say you got me with something, but in those exact posts you're just proving my points, the literal opposite of catching me in some lie or moment of ignorance.
