Palace Cafe on Canal St. I also enjoy Frenchmen Street. It is kinda like a local's Bourbon Street.  Magazine Street has some great boutiques, bars and food. Couple of my favorite pizza joints are here. City park is also beautiful and they have a cool Arts Museum and Sculpture Garden. Autobahn park has the zoo, aquarium at the end of Canal, and numerous cemeteries. Don't act like a douche, have fun, and be safe.

Boucherie. Great little restaurant in the Riverbend area. It is owned by a good friend from Durham, Nathanial Zimet. He has survived some crazy stuff in recent years - he was shot three times point blank during a robbery. Great dude, great chef, great restaurant, and someone that deserves to be supported. It's outside of the more heavily-visited parts of the City but the surrounding area is a fine spot to spend an evening eating and drinking.

commander's palace is the first place that comes to my mind if you want a really nice night out.

there's an awesome breakfast spot called surrey's uptown.  they do a lot of fresh squeezed juices.  great place for a hangover.  they don't serve booze, but there is a good dive bar next door that you can get drinks to go from and surrey's will let you drink that while eating.

    • Yeah but jumping up in the draft to get a project #2/3 WR is just plain not smart. I am down on XL because the thought was that he could be a potential #1 WR and he has been anything but that so far. Also, the idea of him as a slot is even more upsetting because you pass on several more productive slot guys(McConkey being the most obvious) that were TREMENDOUSLY more NFL ready. I was not a fan of the XL move at the time and I am not a fan of the decision in short term hindsight either. He is just simply going to have to be a guy that proves it on the field to me. McMillian was my #1 WR in this draft and I was a pro-McMillian guy. However, he isn't gonna get treated with baby gloves either. We are in the era of rookie WR's putting up 1k+ yd seasons with regularity. He's going to(barring injury) have to be one of the top 2 or 3 WR's in this class in terms of production. And that's being very generous to him. He really needs to be THE guy from this class. It isn't like he is gonna have a lot of guys taking catches away from him.
    • Thought this was an interesting moment of candor. See the 2:00 min mark. TD said he made the decision that he wanted T-Mac as our 1st round pick back in January. Dan chimed in and said he made the decision early as well (indicating the same time frame).
