Rocky spinoff film: Creed

Looks good from the trailer. Michael B. Jordan is a pretty good actor from his previous films.looks promising

. Creed marks a new chapter in the long Rocky storyline, and the film is both a sequel and, in a way, a reboot. Rocky is still around, still played by Sylvester Stallone. But this time, he’s in the corner as a trainer for a young fighter, and that fighter is the son of his old foe Apollo Creed. Michael B. Jordan plays Adonis Creed, a promising slugger who will also be the true star of the new film.

I got tired of the Rockey character around Rocky IV but Im a sucker for boxing movies.

I'm a fan of the Rocky movies but I've seen enough of the character.  I think this movie could have been good without Sylvester Stallone in it but that wouldn't draw a crowd.

The original Rocky came out in 1976, so this story is almost 40 years old.

I guess in another 40 years, we'll probably be watching movies about Rocky's grandchildren.

when I saw the preview for Southpaw, I felt like it was a reboot of Rocky...who was a southpaw.

Apparently, based on the positive online response to this trailer, Netflix has now put Rocky I through V back up in its library.

What I like is his boxing style actually reminds me of Carl Weathers playing Apollo.

Wonder if he spent some time studying the old movies.

Been getting pretty good reviews...more than that actual people have been saying its a great film not just the critics. Will have to check it out this weekend.

Saw it last night. Pretty good film but I'll say the plot seems to go pretty fast for a 2 hour film. Definitely one of the better Rocky movies. I wonder if this will be the start of a trilogy.

Finally got to watch it. Pretty good film. IMO. I think it did a really great job at telling a new story and honoring the previous Rocky films without felling like it's forcing it in there.
