Panther fan ejected...for CHEERING?

As a fan who has been going to Panther games for mega-years, I saw something Thursday night that really pissed me off albeit it was out of my hands.

I was sitting behind a family....mom,dad and three kids.

The little guy in front of me...he may have been 8 or 9..was so into the game...everytime the Panthers would get a first down or close to it he would stand up and jump and be so happy but the mom would look at him and say 'hush' or 'ssshhh' and the poor little one would sit back down...his siblings looked like robots.

What do ya do in a situation like that?

I would figure out a way to get into a conversation and in a joking and friendly way say I don't mind kids or people enjoying themselves etc.

They may be worried about what happened to the dude in the video.

Oh noes!! I would be out every game if they escorted those that stand and cheer. In 14 years, we've only had 1 person ask us to sit down and he wasn't the usual seat occupant, who stands too. He was older and had trouble standing so for that game we were more careful. (My son stood but leaned into me so the guy could see. lol)

There was an incident between 2 drunks in our section a couple of years ago that needed the police. They were both escorted but the one that had been standing came back, to cheers. The complainer didn't.

We're in trouble if this becomes the norm. The guy complaining probably didn't hesitate to text security. Jackass!! :angelsad2:

Mom, we stood the entire Baltimore game, save the 4th quarter, so this doesn't seem to be a trend.

Well since Big Cat was his mentor, we know where he might side.

The line is not small, there is a large gap between FAN and DRUNK. I think the latter has no place in the staidum as they are annoying but if we don't let the former STAND AND CHEER this franchise will only get worse from a culture/history standpoint.

The guy in the video is my best friend. I can tell you that at the tailgate, he had a few beers over a couple of hours, and ate a lot, including this great ribeye sandwich we split lol - but unless he spent 30-40 bucks on beer there was no chance of him getting drunk, and he hates buying beer in the stadium.

Anyways, he has been doing this forever - he is a true fanatic when it comes to the Panthers, is a big Tarheel fan (even watches their football games) and I think he still is into Dale Jr.

I am hoping that all this gets worked out quickly - he really is pissed about the whole thing. I've tried to calm him down some, as it may just be a case of an overeager ShowPro guy or something.

Whats really bad to me about this is that as he was leaving the game, a "large" Steelers fan of the feminine persuasion decided to flash the Steelers bench (this was the front row). Three ShowPro guys were right on the field across from us, I saw one pointing to her and talking to his buddies, but they laughed and went on with whatever they were doing. Our section security guy could not have seen it happen - I was 2 seats from her and her friend told me she did it - but the 3 on the field let it go.

I don't have a problem with this stuff, it's a football game, loosen up, but the totally inconsistent reactions of the staff tell me that the training for them is not really there.

Somebody should email Roger Goodell. When he isn't deliberating over whether this felon or that felon should get to play in the NFL, maybe he can help.

Can someone turn this into Gant, Reed, or someone and try to expose this? If nothing is done, this will just be another story swept under the rug.

There is probably nothing to do because it is clear that the guy left out part of the story. I'm guessing the part where he got mad and started acting like a complete ass.

I won't miss Jerry Richardson when he's gone when it comes to the atmosphere at BoA Stadium. Other things yes. The atmosphere he helped create at the stadium no.

This has been going on forever. People getting told to get out cause they stand up. IDK why they let this keep happening but it happens every year. I think Cosmo who post on here was thrown out last year for standing up. Basically if some one tells on you your gone..... No matter what reason.

I'd like to think I can walk into BOA and cheer my own team without worrying about "consequences". Didn't cheer myself when I was watching my team at the Coliseum but I had an excuse then (I value my life!)
