Seahawks offer Wilson a deal in the range of Cam Newton's

Man, Wilson is so delusional.  I think to myself if the roles were reversed, how would Wilson have done on the Panthers roster?  He would have CRASHED AND BURNED.  Flamed out of the league in two seasons.  The year before Wilson came into the NFL, the Seahawks were 7-9 and had the #9 ranked defense in the NFL.  That's a better ranking than the Panthers defense has been in all but one of Cam's seasons on the Panthers.   The Panthers were 2-14 with a brand new coaching staff the year before Cam came to the Panthers.  They had the #28 ranked defense his rookie year.  Cam has struggled to win on some BAD Panthers teams.  Wilson has had it easy on the most talented roster in the NFL.

Either way this is good for the Panthers.  The Seahawks will either break the bank to keep him, ruin their salary cap and slowly but surely lose key pieces of that defense.  Or Wilson walks and the Seahawks struggle to replace him, allowing the Panthers to finally overtake them.  We win either way.  I'm so happy with how this is turning out.

He's better than decent.  He galvanizes that team.  I don't think he's wrong for wanting to be paid.  In his shoes, he already has a Superbowl ring on a rookie contract and now he wants his money.  Nothing wrong with that, but I must admit his self worth (according to football) is definitely inflated due to his (team's) success over the past few years.  Does he deserve that much?  Doubt it, but aim for the moon land on a star.   Football life is short.

Your lists are completely silly. Wilson is easily a top 10 QB. He's not elite or worth more than Cam, but he's definitely top 10. And if you wouldn't pay a QB like Wilson more than $10M/year then you're a fool. Cam's deal would be fair for him. And putting Mariota and Winston over him (or any other QB for that matter) before they've played a down in the NFL is retarded. Bridgewater, Carr, and Tannehill are all in the top 15 as well. Just a plain dumb post.

Your opinion is presented as fact to benefit your argument and to hide the reality that it is only a very shallow OPINION.  I assume that the only time you call people names is when you are anonymously flexing on the internet in a childish and  desperate attempt to build back the self esteem that was taken from you with your lunch money in grade school.

Stop trying to act like knowledge is your gift alone.  It takes a fool to think your opinions are fact.

You have never seen Wilson play behind the Jacksonville OL, and you have never seen him handing the ball to a second-rate RB.  You have never seen him play without the #1 Defense in the NFL behind him, so to assume you know he is top 10 is foolish.  No need to be a dick to have an opinion, but you are a dick when the opinions. of others somehow threaten you into personally attacking them.  What a sad state of affairs your life must be.

Here is a list that might make more sense to you, Thomas, because I kept the list to 10 players to avoid confusion for you.  My Top 10 QBs, no order.  Find one who would not be better in Seattle than Wilson.

Tom Brady

Big Ben

Phillip Rivers

Cam Newton

Andrew Luck

Drew Brees

Peyton Manning

Aaron Rodgers

Tony Romo

Joe Flacco

If the argument is whether Wilson deserves to be in the top 10, consider this--only about half of the QBs in the NFL (15-16) are considered "franchise QBs" and of those, some teams would be open to a potential upgrade.  Wison wants Rodgers money--think about that--when he is not even a top 10 QB in a league were there are only about 16 good ones.  Is he better than Romo and Flacco?  I don't see it, if you pull him off the Seahawks.  Would Flacco and Romo make the Seahawks better than Wilson?  I think so--and that is my OPINION.

WOW/  He is into some serious, delusional self-love.  I can't believe he really thinks he is worth that much.  I think the Seahawk GM is crazy for offering him more that $10m, if you want to know the truth.  Wilson feels he should be the highest paid QB in the NFL--over Rogers, Manning, and Brady.

Here is something to consider--I would speculate that Wilson could not beat out the QB on the following teams:

  1. Green Bay
  2. Indianapolis
  3. New England
  4. Pittsburgh
  5. Carolina
  6. New Orleans
  7. Tampa Bay
  8. Atlanta
  9. Denver
  10. San Diego
  11. Detroit
  12. Tennessee
  13. Baltimore
  14. Dallas

Possible competitions:

(6) Cincinnati, Miami, Minnesota, NY Giants, St. Louis, Philadelphia.

That means that Russell Wison would probably win the starting job for the following teams:

  1. Kansas City
  2. Oakland
  3. San Francisco
  4. Arizona
  5. Jacksonville
  6. Cleveland
  7. Chicago
  8. Houston
  9. NY Jets
  10. Buffalo
  11. Washington

The point?  Russell Wilson, in another system, could not beat out half of the QBs in the league.

I agree, I don't think Wilson could beat out the starting QBs listed above and I would add Oakland to that list. Carr showed last year that he will be a QB to contend with in years to come.  I liked his rookie year.  Washington too.  While he might beat out RG knee out but Curt Cousins isn't a bad QB either.

Your lists are completely silly. Wilson is easily a top 10 QB. He's not elite or worth more than Cam, but he's definitely top 10. I think the point was he would have a difficult time beating those QBs out on those teams.  To say he would walk into the camp of any of the teams he listed and be the #1 QB is a stretch.

There was a reason he fell to the 2nd round.  He went into Seattle and made plays and won that job.  I thought it was a great story and of course they won the SB with him that year.  I wouldn't call him a Top 10 QB.  He's a Super Bowl winning QB but there have been many SB winning QBs that weren't top 10.

Usually you have some post I agree with and was pretty shocked you called his post dumb when I thought it was pretty spot on.

When comparing athletes, yes nothing is set in stone. But if somebody tried claiming that Chad Henne is better than Tom Brady he would be complete fuging moron to everyone else. Your other post was borderlining that argument.

Forget the QB rankings you had, since that can be your opinion---though I'm about 99.99% sure you haven't even seen every QB in the league play more than a game or two if that, so you have no facts to base your opinion on when ranking them. You saying that Russell Wilson wouldn't be able to win a starting job over Winston and Mariota is retarded, that is as much fact as it is to say Brady is better than Henne. You have never seen them play in the NFL so saying that is premature and silly.

And you yourself said it would be a possible competition between Wilson and Tannehill, while also saying you wouldn't even pay Wilson $10M/year. Tannehill is making $19M/year. I'm not going to continue to spell it out for you...

Your post was full of inconsistencies and random nonsense based on nothing at all except your perception of players who you likely haven't seen play enough to have an opinion on them, and probably don't even understand the game of football enough (x's and o's) to tell how good they actually are. And regarding the way I formed my OPINIONS in my response to you... That is I form all of my opinions when discussing or debating anything with people. Not just online. There was no "personal attack" or "name-calling." I disagreed with your opinion. Sure, I threw in some words to emphasize my own opinion and to make it clear that I strongly disagreed with your opinion, but that's all it was. If you're going to fuss about that then you shouldn't bother discussing or debating anything again because that's what debates are. Attacking of each other's opinions in order to get your point across. And the point of this particular message board is to discuss and debate football. Nothing personal about it. Sorry if my words regarding football over a message board offended you.
