How could the Hornets pick Justice Winslow...

its not like you couldn't have mkg and winslow! why is it one or the other?? Winslow learns behind Batum and takes over the SG position if Batum doesn't resign and he shows growth.

And MKG is very important and under appreciated by many on here. Look at our teams record without him on the court. Some things aren't noticed in stats.

MKG is the most overrated player in the history of Charlotte professional sports. He's not underrated anywhere. He's a glue guy who people think is an MVP candidate (or at least is "untouchable.")

I disagree with the most overrated part. He was one of the few good picks that we have had. He has shown improvement every year and is a lock down defender that improves the team defense when he is on the court. That last part is my only problem with him. Due to his style of play we have yet to see him play a full season. For that reason he isn't untouchable for me but I would need a great offer to trade him.

Hornets fans trashed getting a guy similar to Brad Miller, but still vehemently defend their orgasms over picking Tony Allen second overall.

Winslow's play at Duke consisted of tripping, grabbing, kicking and a few basketball plays thrown in when he wasn't busy glaring .  I imagine his tripping, grabbing and kicking days are over which make him about a 6 point....2 rebound a game player in the NBA.   He can glare from the bench at his new coach.

I hated the MKG pick, but MKG is a really really nice role player / glue guy on a good team. Just have to pair him with a sharp shooting scoring SG

The Bobcats weren't a "good team," so why did they draft him? The Hornets still aren't, so where are they going if he needs to be more than just a role player for them to get anywhere? That's the problem, and has been since they drafted him. If the roster was better, I wouldn't have called it a stupid pick before they made it to now. It's not a good situation for him or the Hornets.

It may have been mentioned somewhere, but maybe the worst part was passing up the Celtics trade offer. Simmons said it was a 'mega-Godfather' offer...I'm assuming both their 1st rounders and Sullinger, from the rumors from last night. So, take Justise? Naaa. Take that nice trade? Naaa. Give me Frank the Tank. Thanks, MJ and Cho

Of course you could have both, but the Hornets obviously see Winslow as a SF as do most. His height is less important than his frame and skill-set, which fits SF better than SG, and we know MKG can't play SG.

    • I complete disagree. Who is available is extremely relevant. If you have a couple of players you would be happy with and you can still get them if you trade back, you should do that in a heartbeat. Being afraid that people will lowball you next year is an odd stance. Then you just say no next year, problem solved. In this particular draft you can get a very good player at 46. But to each their own.
    • I don't think so.  Watson really screwed them up.  I see something happening, but do not know what.  Cousins could be had in a trade--but they liked Flacco when he played there.  If it were me, I would not spend the #2 pick on Sanders.  I would go after a tier 2 qb because I think Will Howard is going to start in the NFL soon, and I think Ewers was rated very high at the beginning of the year--he knows adversity and he beat out a Manning while taking Texas to 2 playoff appearances.  I am not good at picking QBs, but I think Howard's run pass option and his accuracy is going to help someone.  Stay in Ohio and play for the Browns behind Flacco--
    • After Cam at #1, there are three or four elite players and there could be a trade--If I am the Giants and I am needed a winning season badly and I have several needs, I might trade out and pick up mid first and an extra second rounder, including a QB--while nobody is going to move up to #3 for Sanders, they might for Carter or Hunter.  If the Giants then move back, Sanders could still be in play.  That could be the trade in the top 3.  New England wants Campbell and I get that; Jacksonville at #5 could move back if someone wants Graham or Jeanty.  But barring some trade, the top 4 are probably locked in. So it could be 2 hours into the draft before we get any surprises. Nice list, by the way--you nailed it.
