Is Isaiah Battle worth a damn?

Battle has been in trouble in the past at Clemson, serving a suspension in 2013 after punching a player, and another last season for disciplinary reasons. According to The Clemson Insider, Battle was pulled over for speeding in early June and caught with marijuana. Police cited him for both, but did not charge or arrest him.

We aren't touching him.

No more trading future picks for players. Hurney ain't here no more. Especially on a player that's punched a teammate. We've had enough of that.

Gettleman will stay farther away from him than a kale, seaweed, and cucumber dinner.

Where would he have stacked up in this year's class?  Anyone know?

One scout service had him as a top 5 tackle in 2016 draft if he'd have stayed in college per @brucefeldmancfb

@BruceFeldmanCFB: #Clemson LT Isaiah Battle to Supplemental Draft..Am told he was ranked #2 OT among SRs behind Ronnie Stanley by a major NFL scouting bureau.

I have no issue with trading futures picks for players given the proper circumstances.  Trading that 3rd rounder for Greg Olsen was a great move.

The Hurney trades I alwsys hated were trading future higher picks for current picks.  Everyone remembers trading that future 1st rounder to take Everette Brown in the 2nd round.  That's idiotic.

What sucks about the Supplemental Draft is that you don't have all the same opportunities you have at the regular draft to interview a guy, check him out and really get to know him.

Obviously you can do your research, but it's way more of a crap shoot.

Battle was pulled over for speeding and was also handed a citation for simple possession. "Sources told us he left the team because this was the third and final strike for the senior left tackle," Will Vandervort writes. "We were told, "He had no money left in the bank."' Battle stated his reasoning to enter the Supplemental Draft was due to the upcoming birth of his child. Either way, Battle's time with Clemson would have seemingly ended soon.

    • I like that a lot; Ware from Troy and also Khalil Mack who played at University of Buffalo
    • I remember the Huddle consensus over the course of last season and the previous one. Lots of Bryce is a bust, we should've drafted a 4th slot WR, should've kept Wilks, should've kept an armless Cam, etc etc. So... yea... already thought about that. I wouldn't trust the Huddle to detail my car, let alone run a multi-billion dollar professional sports team. 😛
    • bold prediction, I think Mike Green will be the best pass rusher in this class, and thats even with abdul carter.  He reminds me of demarcus ware, not just in size and prowess, but even coming from a Sunbelt school (Ware from Troy, Green from Marshall).  I think he is passionate about the sport where I think Carter as the physical freak might not have the heart.  Thats the guy Im sold on and am gonna hammer the table for, I know he's not projected 8, but he is projected like 12-13, so if a slide back can happen and we still get the guy I want, I'm 100% on board. All that said, it takes 2 to tango, I think the Cowboys are the tango-er.  IMO theres a VERY good shot that Jeanty is available at 8.  Why does that matter?  Not only do the cowboys NEED a runningback (dak sucks without a run game), but MORE importantly, gee where did Jeanty play in high school.....Frisco TX, literally Dallas Metro.  Soo, RB is a position of need and the best RB and most blue chip draft selection that  could improve the offense immensly played IN dallas metro AND will be in range for them to move up and pick?  Do ya think Jerry Jones is gonna just say no to the Jersey Sales?  Jerry might have sexually assaulted a woman and attempted to prevent black people from going to school, but he's no idiot (he is).  IMO, we get a good enough package, prlly their first and third,  maybe a conditional later and we move to 12.  We get Green, they get Jeanty, everbuddy happy.
