Thank you Hendo!

I'm not sure he ever sees this, but I wanted to send appreciation to a player that gave his all for this team, steadily improved his game year after year, and performed like a pro despite constant rumors of replacement and new players brought in to take his playing time.

In the end, he always earned that PT back.

I'm going to miss your highlight dunks, newly acquired corner 3, leadership, and definitely your toughness.

Thank you Gerald and best of luck in Portland.

Good guy, good pro, but for years he personified the "decent at best" idea surrounding the Charlotte franchise and that's why he was loathed despite all the good things he did.

In a time when the NBA transitioned to a 3 point shooting game, he continued to struggle from 3 and play like a homeless man's Kobe as we watched shooter after shooter get passed over in the draft in hopes he would improve. He did, but marginally, and ultimately, not enough. It's that lack of improvement that encouraged the FO to bring in Lance to torpedo whatever good vibes we had going into last season.

Wish him the best in Portland, but I won't miss him. Glad we're going in a much needed new direction.

Charlotte Logic:
You are soggy-garbage for years and years - then you get a decent player - you expect Allstar level of play out of said decent player - then trash him for not living up to YOUR expectations = Charlotte Logic

I bid Hendo a fine farewell and wish him all the best of luck. He's a Pro's pro and suffered through terrible teams and seasons and was one of the only bright spots. Cheers!

He seems like a good dude.   I was excited when we got him, but his improvement was minimal from his rookie season, the only difference was more playing time.  He came in a subpar ball handler with no shot, and he is basically still that guy.

Not trashing him, he just really did seem to be the face of overpaid, treadmill mediocrity that our franchise has embodied throughout its existence.  But, to his credit, I have always said he would be an outstanding piece for a team that was built to better suit his strengths and weaknesses...  Best of luck in Portland, but I'm not sad we're turning the page on another failed draft pick...  It should've been sooner.

Lol...   JJ, you are one of the only ones, if not THE ONLY poster that brings up colleges and collegiate allegiances in this forum.  Could you get anymore emo right now?

When it comes to helping my team, I don't give a poo what school I attended, what school the players attended, if they are going to make my team better, I want them here.  The problem is, Hendo didn't make our team better.  Watch what happens this season now that he's gone.  He wasn't the sole problem, but he was a guy that was representative of that hamster wheel culture here...  He didn't make us better, he didn't make us worse, he just took up space and kept us from moving forward in trying to upgrade him because he was familiar and "a good guy."

I loved his athleticism coming out of Duke and felt like if he got a shot with some range down, he could be a superstar.  He never really got significantly better, but continued to hold up a key spot because we accepted his effort as "good enough."  it's not personal, he just wasn't very good here.
