Broncos tried to trade Manning this off season...

Ehhh I mean, it makes sense (for the long haul)

This is probably Manning's last year. He regressed slightly last year (drastically at the end of the year when hurt). He's old, injury problems now, and the Broncos have nearly lost their window.  IF they could've got a nice package for him? Heartless, sure.  But could have been in the best interest of the team to move him.

Not to mention if he is still at a Top 10 QB level...he makes the Texans a contender.  Maybe at the same level or higher than the Broncos.

I would think before the Titans were set on Mariota, they could've been the team.  Peyton has a lot of shares in Tennessee beer distribution, comes back a ton, and loves Nashville.   Edit: To clarify, a team that would have possibly made good enough offer.  The reports are directly about the Texans though.

It would make sense.  Manning is a statue and their OL is a huge question mark.  It was a big question mark even before Clady tore his ACL.

Their hopes of making one last S.B. run with Manning probably went out the window when Clady went down.  If that's the feeling in the front office, you might as well try to look to the future and cash in your chips and get what you can for your nearly 40 year old future HOF QB with a bionic neck.  The added bonus is getting a trial run with Osweiler under greatly reduced expectations.  If Osweiler looks like the future, great.  If not, you're probably looking at a pretty high draft pick anyway.  Maybe the future is in it.

Remember who the current Broncos coach is?

Remember where he used to coach?

What you might not remember though, is that in times past Gary Kubiak wasn't exactly all that complimentary of Peyton Manning. That was something people thought might make their relationship a little uncomfortable.

I'm guessing this story won't exactly help matters.
