Opinion.. Panthers brass have concerns over KB, hence Funchess.

I bet you where jumping for joy watching him on the feild last year.  Laying out for balls, making blocks, schooling sherman and thomas....better than anything we have had in years.  Now that we have sat around with out thumbs up our asses for a few months we say "man did you see him lunge for that ball?" Or "he should have zigged here when he zagged"....funch was in college last year and corey barely saw the feild and we wanna pick apart our best wr....

The reality of it is we are looking really good at wr.

He had some flashes. But he needs to step it up this year and prove he can be a #1. Of course I cheered for him when he made a big play. Why wouldn't I?

Last time I checked teams play 60 minutes of football on Sundays. All 60 minutes count equally to the game. "Garbage time" is an excuse fans trot out to discredit player production for what ever reason.

I'm trying to think back to pre-draft analysis about KB maturity or was it his dedication. It was something. I have no idea why after a 1,000 yd season regardless of how he got it, why he would come in 10lbs heavier

I figure that the success that KB had last year was the reason that Gettleman went out and drafted Funchess this year.Sure you can complain about KB but lets be real here, how many rookies receivers donr have some issues when you put all the pressure we put on KB last year. He not only was a starter but had to play against the ther team's best defender day in and day out.  Funchess is going to have an advantage just having KB to take off the pressure and share the heat.  Having Funchess, Ginn and Brown should help KB as well given teams wont be able to double him all the time.  KB did a fantastic job last year.  One question about the 9 lbs?  Fat or muscle??  Everyone assumes he is overweight because he is out of shape.  What if he is 9 lbs heavier and it is largely muscle.  I surely didnt any fat on him in the pictures I saw.??

No. The front office added Funchess because the only thing better than having one beast WR that's 6'5" and manhandles most DBs is having two. End of discussion.  

I'm all for free speech and conversation here, but sometimes you should read what you type and think "does this need to be posted?" In my opinion, you should delete more of your typed thoughts than you post. Most of the time once you type it out, you'll realize it's not a productive conversation.

Funchess was drafted because we needed another top WR and because he was a good value.

Whether or not he becomes our #1 is between him and KB.  We will see.

If you would put this type of effort into an actual good topic to discuss there wouldn't be so many people that hate you lol the effort is there you just need better ideas.

 

For instance why not talk about Funchess and what is expected of him this season. If you really think he'll supplant KB as the #1 in his rookie season tell us why. Cam needed weapons so the thought of Gman trying to replace KB is not a good one. They are our Cobb and Nelson,Megatron and tate, white and jeffrey etc. I personally don't see funchess coming close to KBS numbers this year due to the fact we have more weapons and won't have to force him the ball.

You think garbage time is made up? Why do coaches remove starters after big leads or in our case last year after it was clear we were not coming back in some games?
