Marshawn Lynch : Seahawks fans

So being a bit of an expert on this subject, I'll throw in my two cents. The Bay has ALWAYS loved the Warriors. Through good years and bad, Oracle has always been super loud and has always sold out. The Warrior faithful have been just that, faithful.

However...

My wife and I are for two VERY different schools of thought on bandwagon fans. She thinks I should embrace them. She thinks that the Warriors having success and bringing on all these fans is great for the team. I see people everyday driving around with those little Warriors flags on their cars, and it pisses me off something fierce. I guess having gone through 32 years of poo, it upsets me that people come in and get the joy of a championship late to the scene. It's like adopting a kid already on their way to Harvard Medical School and considering yourself an awesome parent. You didn't go through the pain of childbirth or the pain of raising these little fugers, driving them to practice in your fuging automatic door closing minivan, you just showed up on graduation day in a Tesla Model S like nice job son, so very proud of you.

The point of this rant? Bandwagoners can eat my ass.

Being a Carolina boy through and through, I've always liked Steph and would catch their games whenever I had a chance, and them drafting Harrison Barnes even further strengthened that.  Always liked Iggy's game as well.  I've said for a few years now to my peeps I talk basketball with that they were going to be a hell of a team in the near future.

That said, even when I was talking them up I didn't think they were actually going to win the damn championship and I sure as hell aren't going to rep them like some bandwagoner.  Sure enough, my facebook feed over the past month has filled up with all sorts Warriors crap from people who probably couldn't name another player on their team other than Steph Curry.

I don't mind some bandwagon fans. If the exposure of a Championship shows people out there what this team is about and they choose to be fans because they like what they see...then there's nothing wrong with that.

But if they only are interested because they won then that seems a lot more like what Montsta is talking about.

If you go read the thread about why everyone is a fan, there are some that could be considered band wagoners at the time, but they've stuck with it ever since. Certainly makes them non band wagoners now.

This. ESPN (surprisingly) had a good article about the Warriors fans in Oakland. Shame that the team will most likely move to San Fran.

You have your 1st level fans. Those fans that root for the Team, they bleed Black and Blue. Sure they have there favorite players, and are not opposed to voicing their pleasure/displeasure at the drop of a hat. (Drop of a hat. Is that from racing? Or...why do I have flashes of dueling?) But they are the salt of the earth where it comes to the Panthers.

2nd level. Those fans who started out being a Panther fan because of a certain Player. Then decided to stick around. Probably more for the culture, and community that surround the team, than the actual team itself. Or maybe it was just the team.

Then of course you have the BandWagoners, Or what the moral minority like to call the scourge of planet. These mysterious creatures are said to only appear when your team is in an upward trajectory. And yes Martha, there is a correlation between how well your team is doing, and the amount of BWs there are lurking around.

tl/dr version; BWs are a necessary evil to what all fans aspire. Success. You want to be a winner? You gotta live with the BWs.

Oh come on, now.  I remember the 90s.  Like, the entire 90s.

I'll lose my mind on a dipshit that shows up after we win a Super Bowl. I've suffered through too much poo to share that glory with some 16 year old "fan" that has his new Panthers jersey hangin beside his Seahawks/Patriots/Steelers jersey.  fug that kid in the face.

why do you think there are so many cowboy, stiller, 49er and patriot fans.....

winner has a thousand fathers and loser is an orphan.

welcome all fans.......new and old.

I can't wait for the Panthers to win the superbowl so I can sell this dump, by a house on the beach and shoot bikini models full time on my yacht.... Wait, what? Oh yeah, bandwagoners. They are nerds.

You'll be reeling in the big ones when we've won 10 straight Super Bowls and Cam, Luke, Rivera and Gettleman are all declared football Gods as well as the Panthers being the greatest franchise in league sports history.
