NFL on ESPN: C.Johnson NFL most over paid player

You can't just look at the worst cap hit on a six year deal. It's not his fault Hurney backloaded his contract. Over the course of his contract it averages 12.5 mil a year which is pretty much in line with what premier DEs make.

Well, if you look at it in a range and broad spectrum, sure.  But just this year, no.  fug no.

You've been here long enough no know there's no room for sense or logic.

I’d ask many of you how many top tier defensive ends actually hit the market after being as productive as he was with his potential heading into that contract…bad structure not a bad contract.

Like others have mentioned without Hardy the ENTIRE defense slipped, teams could slide protection to him, and double him, not to mention a nagging injury. Hopefully Ealy, or Alexander emerge as consistent threats to allow CJ to play to his contracts value all season.

I didn't like the structure, and still don't, but, with us not touching it this year like most GM's would have done, it sets us up nicely next season.

We did overpay Big Money, but not by much.  The way the contract was set up is what is screwing us.  Cam's deal is set up much better than this one.

I wonder if ESPN took into account CJ against the run.

2 or 3 years ago he had double digit sacks AND double digit tackles behind scrimmage.

He may be a little overpaid but he is a good player, keeps his nose clean and is very good as an all-around lineman.

He also had 7 forced fumbles in 2012.
