Corvey Irvin to IR???

The one thing I'd suggest is that DT Corvey Irvin could be headed to injured reserve. It's not that he's going to be hurt long-term, but he's likely going to be on the shelf for a few weeks, and I doubt they'd hold a roster spot

Makes sense. If he was going to be inactive for most of the season anyway because he isn't ready to contribute much..then why not?

It's Lewis, Leonard, Hayden, Favorite, and Hypolite right now if Irvin goes to IR and we sign nobody else. I think the Alfonso Boone signing becomes more likely.

I'm all for it and honestly I think Favorite was playing as well, if not better than Irvin.

I can see this as our opening day DT Depth chart:

Starters: Lewis, Leonard or FA

Rotational: (loser of) Leonard or FA, Hayden, Brayton

53 man but inactive: Favorite

One negative to this is that players on injured reserve are not allowed to practice with the team any more so if his injury is not major, he will have to work out in private the rest of this season.

Brayton will cout towards the DE depth and as bad as Lewis and Hayden got pushed around...especially with significant PT, we'll carry five just for freshness. Whether or not all five dress is another issue. If the starters looked whooped after a few series like they did in preseson, you better bet five DTs will dress.

Against fifth-stringers....yippee. There's a reason that UDFA Favorite has seen a lot more playing time than 3rd round pick Irvin and it's not just because one usually lines up at LDT and the other at RDT.
