You're one of those analytics freaks that base your conclusions SOLELY on data without looking at the context of games and using your own eyes. FIne, well in 3 years when Shula is still choking in big games, continue to fail in the redzone, and continuously calling long developing routes on 3rd and short, you can bring your handy dandy handpicked efficiency stats to back up such a sh*t offensive coordinator.

not at all. merely stating that you cannot disregard efficiency statistics. Shula isn't a great OC, but I'm willing to give him a chance with a healthy OL and replenished roster just like we had in 2013, when we went 12-4 without having a world-beater offense.

Now that I can totally agree with. Yep, let's see what he can do now that we have legitimate weapons and an actual O-line.

Also, I felt last year that we ran a LOT more up tempo and no huddle towards the end of the year and into the playoffs, and I hope that continues into this season because everybody can see that is when Cam is at his best. We shall see though. I just have a bad feeling that we will get Shula'd again in the playoffs.

Agreed. Hopefully with the additional offensive weapons, Shula will actually learn how to utilize them effectively. If not, I'll be on the fire Shula bandwagon as well.

In this passing league, a power running team that controls the time of possession with long drives is gonna be ranked in the lower end of the league in most offensive stats. i would rather us have 250 yards of offense and win 20-13 than have 450 yards and lose 33-30.

Well we went 7-8-1 last year.  So we didn't do much "winning"

2013 was the only year Shula has ever had a competent offense. And the Panthers were 12-4. Yeah, he sucked at Alabama, Tampa Bay, & here last season. But it's not like he had anything to work with. He's had bottom 5 talent pretty much everywhere he's been.

He sucked at Alabama.  Do you know how difficult it is to suck at Alabama?

I don't give a sh*t about eating crow, I just want the Panthers to win. And if that means Shula having a great year calling plays and making adjustments, so be it. I would be estatic if that were the case. Also, I hate doing bets like those because it would seem like I am rooting against the team, which is quite the contrary.

And of course Shula knows more football than us, doesn't mean he is good at it. What you did is called fallacy. You don't have to be better at someone to critiique something, or else 95% of football analysts wouldn't be employed.

Also, if you think I am trying to be an "Internet" tough guy, then you must be a very sensitive person because all I am doing is conversing.

I agree with you. And I wasn't making a bet, I was trying to point out that your discussion was so negative that it bordered on hyperbole and was therefore much ado about nothing. I probably didn't do a very good job of it. You're right that it is a fallacy to think that one has to be better than someone else at something in order to criticize. And I wasn't trying to say that. I was, however, trying to put a little realistic perspective on criticism of any football decisions that are made by the coaching staff. It's easy to throw stones but saying he is basically a hot pile of garbage as a coach usually gets me wanting to throw the challenge flag and bring a more realistic perspective to the conversation.

But I probably came off a little stronger than I wanted, and for that I apologize. An extra drink while watching the Stanley Cup probably clouded my judgment. :)

Alabama was heavily sanctioned when Shula was there. They could've had Bear Bryant and Nick Saban coaching those teams and they still would've sucked.
