Spieth had a solid round on the day. Tied for the lead with Stenson and Johnson, who are just getting out on the course.

Spieth seems to have figured this course out somewhat which could be tough for the rest of the participants.

I'm not a Jim Nantz fan but the Fox coverage of this tourney sucks. I do like Buck but he sounds like he's having no fun.

I will have to agree... Fox is not doing a great job here. None of them can match CBS on golf coverage.

I'm not sure why Player thinks that "amateur golf stinks" right now. I am under the impression that, too many golf courses to sustain aside, amateur golf is doing pretty well. He makes some good points though about maintaining a place like Chambers Bay and it's extreme level of difficulty. As beautiful as the setting is, it doesn't seem like it'd be very fun to play.

Putting seems to be extremely tough at this course.  The colors of the turf just seem to make these greens impossible to read.

It is a very unique course, but I doubt they US Open will be back like they are in Pinehurst and other places
