Bull Sharks bite 2 teens in 1 hour at Oak Island, 3rd Shark attack in 3 days

I've seen people chumming off piers in MYRTLE BEACH. After seeing that there's no way I'd get in water even remotely close to a pier. I wouldn't go in past my waist period anyways. I love sharks but I respect them enough to know I could be dead in an instant. I feel sorry for the kids though. They honestly probably didn't know any better.

Sad. People need to be more educated about the ocean and its inhabitants. There is zero chance I would allow my kids to swim near any pier or bridge. Its not the fisherman attracting the sharks. Piers and bridges have pylons. Barnacles grow on pylons. Small fish pick on barnacles. Bigger fish eat small fish. Sharks eat bigger fish.

Playing in the water near shore is pretty safe. But out under a bridge or pier? Ugh. Its a buffet.

People fish off piers- attracting sharks.

The fish cleaning tables on piers empty into the water below the pier- attracting sharks.

People on piers toss off old, used, small bait- attracting sharks

Usually, the biggest parking lot on the beach is nearest the pier- attracting idiots who want to beach next to the pier.....
