Don't know how much has changed, but the reason I haven't purchased the game yet is because from Alpha-Beta the early game was atrocious and extremely boring. The character classes leave a ton to be desired as do the skill trees for each said class. The world did feel good though, just everything else sucked. Combat is a mix of ES will a small amount of MMO styled hotbar attacks. I know they haven't fixed the classes till you hit level cap and there is still only 4 of them, not sure about the rest but doubt they have fixed any of it since they didn't listen to the outcrys of hate toward the tutorial, classes and hotbar/skill tree complaints during the closed alpha and beta.

I liked Skyrim and absolutely loved oblivion.

I was hoping they hadn't changed much in the way of gameplay.

I played ESO when it came out on computer last year, it was bad back then.  It's nothing like skyrim/oblivion, it has an mmo rpg style game play or used to. The story line in the game is better than say something like WoW, but it's gameplay is way worse, atleast that's how it used to be.  I literally haven't played it in a year so I dunno how much they've changed it, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Whats sad, is everyone kept tellibg them to scrap the combat, class system and tutorials for months. A year before release, they had plenty of time to fix it and never really touched those areas till well after release. Had so much potential, but the devs wanted a second coming of Dark age of camalot hence the pvp system and as far as I'm concerned they even failed at that.

Shoot though I must be crazy cause the reviews have been good-solid for the console versions....soo wtf do I know. Maybe you'll enjoy it, just don't expect skyrim type leveling till level 51+ cause you unlock the constellations system. It's similar to diablo 3's bonus Valor levels reward and buff wise.

I never got into it because the combat is terrible for an MMO.  Let's be real, Skyrim combat system was terrible, but we didn't play it for that.  However, looking at an MMO, where you'll be doing SO much fighting, it's just too boring to handle.

At this point, MMOs that are trying to charge monthly fees have to know it'll eventually change to F2p.  I wish they'd just do Guild Wars 2 way and sell the game at first, and then make money off non-p2w microtransactions, and then have big expansions maybe each year for 30 bucks or something.

Not sure why all the hate, I played it for quite a while from Beta as a sub, when you get a guild going and gear up some of the endgame is pretty solid. Especially the PVP, never seen anything on that scale before or since.

Gave it up for Archeage when our guild moved over. Had a pretty damn enjoyable couple of months on ESO before that though.

Yeah it's a little buggy but overall I like it.

    • Everyone wants to know what happened to Hunter Renfrow. He went from the Pro Bowl in 2021 to an afterthought in 2022 and 2023 to out of the league in 2024.  Renfrow ow is attempting a comeback with the Panthers. “It’s just trying to get back, trying to get healthy, trying to do something I love,” Renfrow told Darin Gantt of the team website when asked about a year out of the game. “I enjoyed other parts of life. We had our second daughter, so enjoying that and just wanting to make sure if I’m going to come back and give my time and attention to something that I was going to be all in on it.” Renfrow, 29, revealed that he has dealt with a diagnosis of ulcerative colitis, which left him with weight loss, fatigue and high fever. It’s a reason he did not play last season. Instead, Renfrow spent a year consulting with doctors and getting the condition under control. “It kicked my butt pretty good,” Renfrow said. “Last year, I fluctuated in weight. I went down to 150 pounds. I had like seven straight days of 103-degree fevers. It’s tough to play when you’re not feeling great.” He now weighs 187 with a goal of a playing weight of 185. “It’s a weird feeling. It makes you grateful for the times that you do feel good,” Renfrow said. “It makes you grateful for the opportunities that you’ve had, and when you feel like you’ve been blessed with some skill to go out there and perform, it makes you not want to waste the opportunity that you have. And that was one of the reasons why I wanted to come back and play.” In five seasons, Renfrow has 269 receptions for 2,884 yards and 17 touchdowns. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/hunter-renfrow-a-health-challenge-led-to-time-away-from-football
    • I am feeling optimistic for sure. But at this point in time in Panthers fandom talk is cheap and seeing is believing.
