we were handicapped in so many ways at the beginning of last year it wasn't even funny.

  1. unexpected loss of hardy with an uncertain point of return left a DL in turmoil
  2. QB coming back from ankle surgery, cracked ribs, and whatever injuries and soreness he received in the wreck and having to throw to...
  3. a whole new WR corps that he had incredibly limited time to work with prior to the season starting
  4. a crap OL with only one player worth a poo (at least until we got remmers/norwell/turner in the game)
  5. piss poor DBs starting for us (at least the first part of the season)
  6. STs at an all time low with us resorting to bersin (limited third down specialist) returning punts
  7. ron trading out his riverboat for a paddleboat

i feel confident that 1-6 is rectified. 7......eh....we'll see.

at any rate, i think most of the games we lost and even got blown out of last year, we would have won if we were fielding this year's teams under these circumstances.

i seriously believe that we can pull off 12+ wins this year. i mean looking at that schedule, the only really good team that we face on the road is seattle and i think we're due for a win against them (oh yeah...i forgot about dallas, but i think they are always overhyped). i'm not afraid of any team on that schedule and think that we can stand up against the toughest teams we face this year, seattle, dallas, indy, and GB.

i'm not writing off any team on that schedule, esp. since we end up with a couple "how the !^*($!$*^$(!*$ did we lose to THAT team!?!?!?!?!", but i don't think we could really ask for a better schedule with the team looking like it does so far.

I've repressed that memory long ago. I now remember. The bomb to Jordy. The sacks. The Kuechly ejection. It's all coming back now. Can has faced the Packers twice now in his career and has yet to win. Hopefully this year we can come out on top of the NFC's top teams.
