Steam Summer Sale 6/11-6/22

Only game I was really interested in was Ark.  But I'd heard a lot of bad things about poor optimization.  It's still early in development but I can't see the sense in paying out 20-30 bucks for something you can't play.  So I downloaded a torrent of it and the optimization is pretty bad right now.  I get about 10fps with a 560ti which is a little old but still can play games pretty well.  Even with everything on low the best I could get was 10 fps.

I'll probably buy it once it's been optimized.

Yeah you have to understand this is a very early version of the game that still has a lot of bugs to fix but this game has huge potential if they take it in the right direction. I'm talking about making zone in instances. More bosses, more weapons, better gear. I can see the end game Pvp between tribes being really good. They need to fix a lot of the Dino's AI mechanics but I loved what I've seen so far. Have hope.

Well apparently there was an update that I hadn't applied yet.  I downloaded and applied the update and I can get around 20 fps with everything set on medium...so that's a step in the right direction.  I'm still going to wait until they can get it to about 30 fps stable before I purchase.

Well apparently there was an update that I hadn't applied yet.  I downloaded and applied the update and I can get around 20 fps with everything set on medium...so that's a step in the right direction.  I'm still going to wait until they can get it to about 30 fps stable before I purchase.

I think it'll probably be optimized to the point I want before the release.  It's not releasing until next year sometime, so I'm guessing sometime in Beta I'll probably pick it up legit. It's probably even better when you can play online.

Been playing and so far I've gotten killed by 2 raptors, a megalodon (sp?), brontosaurus, and a small pack of dyla whatever you call them.  The time I got killed by the brontosaurus was kind of funny because I wasn't trying to fight it (the vegetarian dino's won't attack you just because you're around).  I saw a giant egg and picked it up when next thing I know the Bronto goes into a rage and destroys half my house before tail whipping me about 50 feet to my death.  

I've tamed 3 dinosaurs (the giant turtle (use it like a pack mule), 2 parasaurs(use one to ride and level the other one to fight).

Yeah it's a game ai for brontos to chase and kill you until they get their egg back. It's a fun game. I can't wait for full release
