Cam Newton on Primetime on WFNZ

So, I wanted to pump this up before-hand, but it was extremely up in the air whether we were going to get him live or at all. Regardless, it worked out and Cam dropped by on the show today.

We got him to loosen up and have some fun and thought we got some interesting stuff from him, especially about what he wants to do individually this season. It seems he is definitely very aware of what people and critics think of him and his game.

He also taped with Mac and Celania and they'll air their interview tomorrow (which to my understanding has some fairly different content). Just wanted to pass it along to anyone who missed it since we really couldn't pump it until 5 o'clock once we knew for sure he was going to come on.

Enjoy! http://bit.ly/1KXmnft

Awesome, thanks for posting this.

I was pleasantly surprised to turn the show on today and hear him. Interesting he didn't specifially mention mechanics as something he could improve on. Nice job with those follow up questions on the subject though.

It's funny, he went out of his way to say that completion percentage isn't just accuracy, which I'm not really sure what to make of. That number he's trying to hit is rarified air. If he's doing that, I think it's natural to assume that big things are happening with the offense.

Was able to catch about 15 minutes this afternoon. Cam seemed like he was having fun. Loved Q's rap, that even got my 70 year old father-in-law laughing. Kudos to you kroeger for being able to to stay on point and getting him to open up. Definitely great insight into our franchise QB!

He doesn't think his passes are that bad, he said he needs to work on decision making, understanding the route tree etc. To those who insist on anything else he said: "don't believe me just watch" ~ Trinidad James.

With 65-70% completion, I doubt people will be complaining much about accuracy.

Chris, how imposing of a figure was Cam in person?  From what I gather, you are not really all that big of a guy, unlike Marc James who, you know is like 7 feet tall.  Also, you said today on the radio that your hat size is a 7.  Did you know Marc James hat size was up to a 19 and 7/8 right before The Suit canned his ass?

But I digress, Cam as big as everyone says he is or what?

P.S.  Enjoy the show every day.

You plug this radio station as if you worked for them.

He is a massive human being. To be honest though, I've been so closely around him so often in his pads and gear, that he actually looked a normal, perfectly-reasonable sized person to me today. It's all relative. Don't get me wrong, he still imposing and should be playing tight end or power forward in the NBA, but you don't get a true appreciation for just how huge he is until you see him in his gear. That's when you understand this nonsense about his body not being able to sustain his style is so silly. I think Daniel Jeremiah from NFL Network tweeted something similar recently.

The coolest thing is when Cam and Kelvin are side-by-side. The two look like cyborg twins.
