Seahawks in extension talks with Bobby Wagner

Thank you for essentially making my point for me.  You either have a QB or you don't.  You can't "win" a trade without winning on the field.  At the end of the day, all that matters are W's and L's and Super Bowls.

Yes you can most certainly win a trade without winning on field. Do you understand the "value" of trades. Rams won big. Redskins set their franchise back years. I wasn't arguing that you can win without a qb. That isn't a hot take. Everyone knows that. Browns won their trade for the Falcons getting julio. Winning on field doesn't mean you didn't get more value from the trade. Ie winning it. Only one team wins the super bowl every year. That doesn't mean the 31 other teams lost trades because they didn't win it. Trades don't just affect the following season. Trades have ripple effects years after. You clearly don't understand that though so w/e

I think both impact and position wise, Wagner is the right contract-move to make right now for SEA.  I think him and Kam are unbelievably talented and the true core of that team.    Russell can't be a prick and not concede something in negotiations.  No one would want to look like that much of a prick.

Wilson will be that much of a prick. His agent will want double what Cam got. Hell his agent filled out a 6 page demand letter and sent it to the Hawks. The Hawks were hoping to get  Wilson signed before Cam but it looks like he may go another season without a contract.

I think that's how most agents do things. When negotiations are happening it isn't all in person. I think it's mostly done with proposals and supporting arguments back and forth. So his agent submitting a (I heard 16 page) report seems like standard business. It's probably 16 pages because of all the points of why he should get paid they want to raise. Comparisons, stats, wins, etc. Plus he has a baseball agent now and I read an article that this agent is notorious for letting his client walk if he thinks he can get more in the open market.

Because SEA just can't let Wilson walk for nothing, I think they have to break the bank. I think SEA is in a really tough position as long as Wilson and his agent are willing to not blink. In the end, either Wilson becomes a FA next year or SEA sets a new record for QB pay.
