Steelers, Panthers win divisions with defense

The Pittsburgh Steelers asserted themselves as the NFL's top defense to win the AFC North. The Carolina Panthers took their division title with another outburst of offense.

In a meeting of the league's top two defenses, Pittsburgh got a late touchdown pass from Ben Roethlisberger to grit out a 13-9 win Sunday — the Steelers' first in Baltimore since 2002.

We don't hold any tiebreakers. If we did, we would already be NFC South champions.

If we lose out, we'll have five losses...all of them coming in the NFC. Since either Tampa Bay or Atlanta would need to win out, the team that does so would have the same division record as us (3-3), so the next tiebreaker is conference record. Because we were undefeated against the AFC, our NFC record is worse than all of the other NFC South teams in that case.
