Thats a little sad. Good luck on the glass half empty stuff, I'll get back to you after the season on that one, but I can assure you it won't be a top 5 pick.

Well, it won't be a Top 5. Still, we gave up a 1st for a 2nd pick this year. So it's not like we got him for "free"

We also received a fourth in return. Which turned into Mike Goodson, which turns out to be a great pick.

The way the value works out, it is as if we considered our first to be a late 20's pick, which with an early second and fourth, compares pretty handily.

Obviously anything lower than 25 and then we are losing value, but if we get two quality players out of it, I could not care less about value.

Part of me would like to avoid the first round after this years fiasco, anyone expecting the next loads of rookies to be easy to sign has something coming. The uncapped year is going to go to all the agents heads and anyone with a top 20 pick will have their hands full.

So all in all, we give up a pick which could give the other team a huge headache financially and we get two quality, or at least potentially quality players. Neither will miss the roster through lack of effort.

lol yeah im a douche because i can call a spade a spade. wonderful, you've really cut to the heart of the matter.

Ok I see what this is....this is your first time watching football. Its okay buddy we'll hold your hand all the way until the season is over. By the way the season hasn't started yet, all the games we have played so far don't count. I know it can be confusing but you'll get the hang of it soon.

I wasn't complaining. I'm really happy too that we drafted Brown and Goodson, even before the preseason. Was just stating that the move wasn't pain free ;)

we got a first round prospect for a second round price tag, throw in a electric RB with gamebreaking speed. for a cash strapped team, i'll take it. the money we saved by not signing a first rounder this year, could be that small amount that helps us find that much needed depth on the D line.

I think brown will be an effective pass rusher this year, but once teams start to study film on him, he better get some other moves than just the spin, or they will be prepared much more than now. but within a year or so he could bulk up and become a much more reliable player vs. the run.

I agree. Anyway, they'll be much more prepared, but will still struggle to stop him

Here is the question: If this season turns out as bad as the Pre-Season has. Was the trade for Brown/Goodsen worth a top 10 pick in a very talent rich draft?

It all comes down, for me, on how we finish this season. This strategy worked great last year with Otah(we got the upper hand because we finished so well last year).
