WFNZ's primetime w/kris Kroeger sucks

I never thought Wfnz's primetime could get any worse than when hosted by Marc James. I was wrong, I was very wrong. I've given Kris Kroeger time to grow on me but he hasn't. His show is actually getting worse over time. His constant overly dramatic arguments with Tony over minor, uninteresting, non-sports related bulls1t is bad enough but today he hit an all time low. He went on a rant about racism and cam, out of nowhere...then he turned around in the same breath and called Kaeperdick a thug. What a complete douche bag.

Thanks Marc James!

It could be 3 hours of static or fart noises and that would be MILES better than any show Marc James is vomiting his opinions over the air on.

Marc didn't know jack about football, which is no big deal...unless your job involves a lot of talking about football.

Heck, even that can be forgiven as long as you admit where you're lacking. James instead chose to talk as if he were an expert.

Ugh.

Not sucking up, but I'm honestly happy we finally have someone in that slot worth listening to.

Well figured Id give my 2 cents. Listen to primetime and like the show. Didn't hear much today but here's my opinion. Most of my family and many friends seem to have Cam on a shorter leash than Jake. When Jake made mistakes it was just ole Jake and his gunslinger mentality. Cam makes a mistake and he's stupid and a horrible decision maker.

Now I do think that race is an underlying issue, but also I believe is the way he portrays himself on the field. I love the way he plays and has fun but due to the age difference my parents take it has showing off and arrogant.

Overall its like the movie High Fidelity. The woman you are with has granny panties. But that other woman, the new one wears sexy underwear. What's new and different is potentially better. But the fact is that that new woman also has granny panties but we don't see them until we start living with them!

For the last 7 years (I'm 29) I've listened to WFNZ almost every day all day. As a creative-type at work I get to put in headphones and work so it's nice having those guys (like Kroeger) there to keep me company talking about my teams and also things that interest me. I love WFNZ and think they've got something for everyone. Sorry Billy Love, no support from me. Maybe you should switch over to 730, I'm sure you'll quickly realize what an awful station really sounds like.

100% agree. We brought this up. We brought up TONS of reasons why people don't like him. But so it goes. People hear about race and they tune out or decide to think we're calling every Cam hater a racist, which I said multiple times throughout the show we were not doing.

As to the Newton thing...

I don't really give a rip if people outside our fanbase hate our players. Heck, I hope  they hate our players, and I hope we give them plenty of good reasons to do so.

I don't even care if people within our fanbase hate our players...as long as its for FOOTBALL reasons.

If it's something ignorant like hating Newton because he's black or like the idiot we have on this site who hates Kuechly and JJ Watt because they're white, that's a whole other conversation.

(and a pretty stupid one)

Any chance the whiner line goes away?

I can only listen to that idiocy in small doses. I understand it's kind of a staple at this point.

If I had it my way, I would, but it has been around since day 1 of WFNZ. One of those things I don't fight.

I wrote in to DJ the Suit REGULARLY, begging/demanding him to get that pompous, and I do mean pompous piece of garbage off my sports station.

I never had any problem with Zarzour at all, but Marc James was even worse than anything I could have created in my mind if I wanted to make the worst sports-talk radio host in the history of mankind.

    • Agreed on the last part. They can’t afford to lose all these games with Martin and Perets.
    • Yes.  And this converts directly to confidence.  Does the coach have confidence to call a deep dig or seam route?  Does Bryce have confidence in his ability to be the Alpha?  Do his teammates have confidence.  About film--when I see Cam Newton's pre-snap confidence vs. Bryce's, it is night and day.   Film--tells you if the WRs are open (why l love watching the Replay telecasts from the end zone cameras--you can see it.  I have seen 2 WRs open and Bryce's eyes are on the outlet WR or the pass rush. )  You can see progressions, and he has improved a bit--but he is very quick to rush through 1 and 2 and checkdown--that is a lack of confidence in his ability to read the defense.  I had a former NFL TE (Deems Maye) who played QB in high school (not sure about college) tell me that the best QBs read the defense by knowing where everyone will be when the ball is to arrive--not where they are.  I think his QB at the time was Humphries.  He said that Humphries would throw the ball into coverage before the cuts etc.  because he understood DB momentum, zone areas, etc.  and he could just see it.  Said so when people say nobody was open, they are usually right because nobody should be "open" when the QB has the ball--when the ball arrives, everyone should be open.  He said Humphries was never "great" but his skills were limited--from a small school--but his ability to read a defense made him never give up on a route.
