Could cam newton hate be attributed to the fact he plays for a small market team? A team that for fans of other teams or for people who casual watch the pro sport think as "A little man playing in a big man's league".  If cam were to have been drafted by a different team, perhaps the hate wouldn't be as strong? Perhaps the media and the fairweather fans would have more eyes on him, seeing what we already know?  You can tell from certain talking heads on tv/radio and some fans that they haven't been watching our games. But if he was on the cowboys, more eyes on him, more hype, and maybe no hate at all?

​This is an interesting thought. I think there are a lot of various reasons. This could be one. The fact that he doesn't look like any other QB we've ever seen is another. He's not Andrew Luck, so some folks dislike him for something he can't control there. I also think QB is the position more than any other that fans are rarely satisfied with what they have - even when what they have is pretty good. Everyone wants a hall of fame QB, but having a QB that's one of the best of his generation (I'm talking Luck, Wilson, RGIII, Dalton, Kaep, Tannehill, Bridgewater, Carr, Winston, Mariota and the tons of others that have already fizzled out) is pretty good by itself.
