WFNZ's primetime w/kris Kroeger sucks

I never thought Wfnz's primetime could get any worse than when hosted by Marc James. I was wrong, I was very wrong. I've given Kris Kroeger time to grow on me but he hasn't. His show is actually getting worse over time. His constant overly dramatic arguments with Tony over minor, uninteresting, non-sports related bulls1t is bad enough but today he hit an all time low. He went on a rant about racism and cam, out of nowhere...then he turned around in the same breath and called Kaeperdick a thug. What a complete douche bag.

​First, sorry you don't like the show. It's sports radio. We won't bat .1000. We're trying some different things and still tweaking some things. We have some home runs, we have some whiffs. Whatever, that's the way it goes. I hate generic, cookie-cutter sports talk. It's tired, it's trite and it's stale, but it's easy to do in my industry and so many others continue to ride the same worn-out track to wherever they want to go. 

I've said from day one that I want to have an intelligent show with an intelligent audience. I don't put up with stupidity or BS. Period. Callers, co-hosts, guests, whatever. 

And, yes, we don't talk just sports. Our demo is males 25-54. Males who are males like me and many on here. They watch sports, but they listen to music, watch TV, watch movies and actually have a life outside of a box score. We talk everyday life. Again, may be funny one day, not as much the next. Every show isn't going to deliver at the same level every single day. 

I brought up race, because so many others continue do so passive-aggressively. I had numerous callers yesterday and a more than I can count over the last 12 months that call Cam a thug. Cam has never once done anything that could be perceived as thuggish since leaving Florida. He's a model athlete and pro. He dresses well, stays out of trouble, gives back to the community, is well-spoken (when not mixing up his cliches) and carries himself in a way we should all be proud. So, when someone calls a man who has never once in 4 years done anything close to deserve that label, I call it for what it is. Code. Most that call Cam a thug really want to use another word. Use your imagination. 

I didn't call Kaep a thug, either. What I said was, look at the two for how they carry themselves and the things they do off the field, and it's shocking that Cam is the one that gets labeled a thug. I'm not saying Kaep is, what I said was that if anyone was going to stereotype, it would Kaep who's deserving of the label. 

I don't think there's anyone doing sports radio better than Dan LeBatard right now. Nuanced, intelligent, ridiculous, rarely breaking down games and often talking about anything other than sports. It speaks to a generation of millennials. A generation I'm a part of. That may not appeal to you, but that's what we're after. 

For the record, we had incredible reception yesterday and today for the honest, thoughtful and passionate discussions on Cam and the Panthers yesterday.

No it was not me who called...I have never called his show for any reason.

​You also spelled my name wrong. You think I'm actually vein enough to change the spelling of my first name to match my last? You've really got me pegged all wrong.

I get bored or annoyed at false drama and trying to stir people up over a topic that's sensationalized. Prime time doesn't do that, it's one of the few sports shows I like. Mostly I listen to podcasts in my car. I hate commercials and like more than just what the radio talks about. Prime time is one of the few shows I will actually listen to the radio for, commercials and all. So no I don't agree with you. Just because you disagree with a topic or a opinion doesn't mean they are bad. There just not for you. Only complaint I have for the entire network is no one talks about Hockey! It's a damn good sport and deserves more airtime. Especially during the fugging playoffs.

​I LOVE hockey. I wish we talked more, but we're not on in Raleigh anymore (our ratings were actually taking away from their local show) and my Hurricanes are so said right now.
