Finally found a diet that works

I've tried so many diets, exercises, activities and nothing worked.  I was unable to lose belly fat no matter what I did until I talked to few guys who were in awesome shape.  I realized that these people barely eat any red meats or pork.  So over the last month I stopped eating pork and reduced my red meat intake to 1 meal a week.  I stopped drinking beer and instead substitute it with wine.  I start dropping weight right away and I feel totally different.  Is red meat and pork really that bad?

I dropped 15 pounds in just over two months.  This is what I did, and am still doing in order to maintain and build muscle.

1. Tracked my calories using the myfitnesspal app.  There are other apps.  I eat better this way to get satisfied on the allowed amount.  A lot of veggies and fruits(much of it raw), and good snacks that you probably already know about like greek yogurt.  All meats are still on the table, but not too much of any of it.  Fish, pork, beef and chicken are all had in pretty equal amounts.  I eat bread too.  Sammiches, rolls, etc.  Just count it, and even if you are a little off at least you are still tracking your intake so you don't overdo anything.  Also, protein helps burn fat.  You should have some all day long, and especially after exercise to rebuild muscle which burns more fat.  Make sure the app counts steps and is synced with exercise apps so you get credit on your calorie allowance.

2. I run three times a week to train for the 5k I will do in a few weeks.  This is the big thing.  I was stuck at the same weight until I did this.  Then it melted off.  I was slow at first, but I can do just under a 9 minute mile now.  I wasn't even that good in my teens and twenties.

3.  Limit, don't eliminate, the alcohol.  I make beer so I'm not giving it up.  I usually end the day with between one and three.  It just depends on how many calories I have left in my allowance.

I weighed in at 183 today, and I'm 6' 2".  I'm seeing muscle definition that I haven't seen in more than 10 years!  I feel great!

i dropped 20 pounds in a month by eating more pork and red meat (and various types of beans) and cutting out sugar, pasta, bread, white rice, and potatoes. i allowed myself one cheat day a week where i ate anything i wanted to.

your body needs meat, esp. red meat more than it does all that white stuff.

You know how you lose weight? By burning more calories than you take in. That's all. It's not some secret diet.

that's really the big thing.

it takes two things to lose weight.

1) eat less

2) move more

eating smarter helps a lot and eating smarter involves realizing how your body processes what you take in and what it does with the stuff that it can't process (and i don't mean poo).

Red meat is not bad for you. In fact I eat it once a week. A nice, lean, reasonably sized steak is an excellent source of B vitamins and Iron. The problem is too much meat. Red meat and pork is used in a lot of American dishes. Alcohol is worthless, a lot of your weight loss is from this as well. Cut out your drinking severely and you'll do much better. Eat less calories than you burn is in fact how you lose weight. But everyone needs to remember being a healthy weight and eating less does NOT mean your healthy. It means you're a healthy weight. Your food is more than you look. It makes up your blood, fluids, arteries, organs, eyesight, even your hair. My mom is a certified nutritionist and that's where all my habits come from. I have tried many things and for me a Mediterranean diet is by far the best I have ever tried. I am a middle age male. I'm always open to PMs, learning nutrition can be tough but I can guide anyone to a healthy lifestyle. Kudos for you and feeling great from a good diet is the best feeling in the world, true living.

http://www.m.webmd.com/heart-disease/tc/mediterranean-diet-topic-overview Mixed with an hour of lifting 3x a week. I'm 5'11, 175, very little body fat. I have muscle definition and can run a few miles east. When I say lift I mean very light. I jog a couple miles a week. People ask if I work out all the time but honestly, it's just the diet. The healthy fats of this type of diet.

Cutting poo out of your diet will only work for so long. Eventually are going to miss it. I have watched my parents yoyo diet my entire life, and both are still obese in their 50s. Instead, just try to eat more "healthy" food. (Fruits, nuts, greens, etc) You won't have any regrets and you'll discover foods you never knew you liked. I've dropped from 225 to 145 @ 5'4" in two and half years, and ice never felt or looked better. TLDR... A balanced diet is key. Fad diets always fail eventually, that's why their is a new one every 6 months.
