Carowinds To Remove Thunder Road :(

Carowinds will announce on July 26th that they are closing Thunder Road for good.  This kinda sucks.  I have so many child hood memories from the classic rides at Carowinds which now, many of them have been removed.

Good! As one who worked there  I could go to the park freely and Thunderroad sucked as bc you would get off and have a back ache with how rough the ride was.

Might have been the first roller coaster I ever rode.  It felt like the whole thing was about to collapse while you were on it.

​I just thought I was getting old. I used to ride Thunder road over and over again as a kid. Then i go back in my late 20s and it was just painful, felt like getting dropped from a few feet up onto concrete over and over again. Good to know it wasn't just me.

One time we were getting off the coaster and the the breaks on the other coaster rear ended ours while everyone was getting off....it was time to prob close it down.

It had a great run, but it's a ride that beats you half to death. With that land plus all that extra parking, hopefully the put in something else new (not Waterpark)

I have memories of riding Thunder Road on a class field trip in like 5th grade lol.  It was probably the worst coaster at Carowinds even then.
