Online You vs Real World You

Don't want to turn this into a 3 way circle jerk but I just like genuine people and you two are definitely that. I have my a-hole moments because it's a Jersey thing, but that's just with people I don't really know until I meet them. I like to think I can sense genuine people pretty quick when I meet them.

Met quite a few great people on this site early on who I am still great friends with today. Some of whom are no longer on here for various reasons, but many have hung around.

Which reminds me and not to put a damper on things but I really miss Cooter. Think about him all the time. He was a big part of my life even outside of this place. Crazy and loyal here, crazy and loyal in real life also.

What brought the Huddle together back in the day, is the building block of what it is today....bow down bitches.

Johnny Rockets ~ 2015

You realize you're one of the few Huddlers who's met me in person that's still on here?

A load of the people who were at that particular get together are hardly ever on here anymore.

I'm not human until I've had a pot of coffee and a fifth

Of all the people on the huddle you have to be the one that I have the hardest time believing is a real person.

I'm hoping people read my posts in a posh English accent, and then laugh at themselves when they realise how stupid an american doing an English accent sounds.

Yep....thought about that meetup while reading this thread. Pretty sure it was at Buffalo Wild Wings in Charlotte right?

well said Rockets and I'm with you man.  The huddle is still lots of fun and I like many of the people here.  The early days and tailgating with yourself and Cooter, Liver, Zod, Kurb, Scrum, Squirrel, Sky, Monkeybutt and Lee, GTG, so many more I'm forgetting....those were great times and I always have fond memories of them.

I'm very non confrontational and laid back. People have told me I don't look approachable based on how I look but I dunno. Im one of those guys at the party that goes out of my way to make sure everyone is having a good time otherwise I can't have a good time.

    • That works for me too.  I just felt like not enough have converted to Bluesky and that was why he was "forced" to use X.
    • I know every jersey thread goes in this direction, but I feel the need to say it.  The Chinese knockoffs are not your friend. Not only does the money not go to the panthers, but you don't control where it does go. The athletic did an excellent podcast on the business of counterfeit shirts not too long ago. I could care less about the legality of it, but the morality of it is no bueno. Now I need to wash off the "defends billionaire class" off myself, but like don't give your money to those people. If you can't afford a jersey, just go to ebay, or a thrift store, or wear a t shirt.
    • A friend of mine, Chip, was taking an exam in a business course that he had failed twice before.  He would have to drop out of his major if he failed it for a third time--he claimed the professor, Dr. Brown, despised him, and several others who had Dr. Brown's class with Chip confirmed that Dr. Brown's hatred for Chip was obvious.  Before the exam, Chip was up all night cramming, confiding to his roommate Jeff how nervous he was.  Jeff was understanding and listened carefully.  During the exam (an evening course) Jeff was at work delivering flowers for a local florist.  As Chip describes it, a woman (another student who worked with Jeff) entered the classroom with flowers and a card with the words "Dr. Brown" written on the card.  The professor immediately sent the girl out; Jeff was watching from the hallway.  She left the flowers on his desk and scampered out.  Chip laughed because he thought the professor, a man he hated, was being pranked.  A few minutes later, the professor opened the envelope, and read the card.  Chip was still laughing.  He walked toward the students, still taking a timed test, and stopped at Chip's desk, staring at him.  Chip stopped laughing.  He dropped the card on Chip's desk while snarling at him silently.  Chip read the card, "Dr. Brown.  I can't tell you how much I have grown under the three semesters of your tutelage and guidance.  You are my role model.  I will miss you." --Chip Fxxxxx.  Chip made a C.
