Matsko went to Valadosta St. and personally worked him out after their pro day.yeah,in fact Matsko was the only person from the Panthers organization that met with the young man prior to the draft.so,one would only assume Matskos assessment played an influential role in pick 108 of the 13 draft.

This makes me fear the Oher signing now..

let's be honest...Matsko was one of Kugbustas biggest fans,and he sold DG hook,line,and sinker.however,that's still no excuse for DG agreeing to such disingenuous nonsense.

 

Ok it was a bad pick. Whether it was Matsko's or Gettleman's, it doesn't matter. It was a bad pick. But it was a 4th rounder and the flame out rate is high on those anyways. 

 

We have not seen a pattern of bad drafting from Gettleman so I look at it as an anomaly, not a precedent.

To be fair, we never got to see what Kug could do on the field because he was never healthy.

Sure I get that. But health is a huge part of whether or not a draft pick succeeds. Hundreds of players man up and play through pain and injuries every season.

That makes him the guy who worked him out. Not "his biggest advocate".

then there was Edmund Kugbilas teammate Ryan Schrader who attended the same pro day.anyway,he went on to sign with the Falcons as a UDFA,and finished last season with a +7.1 PFF grade.not bad for a small school project who is currently projected to be their starting RT this upcoming season.

How can a 4th rounder be a bust?

 

For NE or Seattle it wouldn't be, but we needed players while we dug out of cap hell. I also think that is one of the reason nipple shorts wasn't afraid to trade mid rounds picks this year to move and get who he wanted.
