2011 NFL draft revisited, would you take JJ Watt over Cam?

Recommended Posts

Actually, a case can be made that Newton came into a situation that wasn't better than what Jake walked into.

Newton had Smitty, Lafell, Olsen, Jeremy Shockey, DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart, and his offensive line included Jordan Gross, Travelle Wharton and Ryan Kalil.

That's a pretty good group.

Delhomme had Smitty (who emerged that year), Moose, Proehl, Mangum, Stephen Davis and DeShaun Foster (good, but not Double Trouble in their prime), and an offensive line that included Jordan Gross, Todd Steussie, and Jeff Mitchell.

Remember also that Smith didn't emerge as a receiving threat until later in the season, netting 7 TDs in the regular season, along with Moose's 3 TDs.

I mean you can compare all you want, but the question remains, can Cam win the big one? That's a multi- multi-multi- million dollar question this year.

Can you answer that question without going all man crush on Cam?

The difference between the two is that Cam has to bail us out a lot more often than Wilson does for Seattle. One can't ignore that Russell has had those moments too though (ex. Green Bay playoff game).

Maybe I'm misunderstanding your post, but are you arguing that Wilson bailed his team out in that game?

The Seattle defense held Aaron Rodgers to 1 TD and 2 INT's with a 55.8 QB rating, and Lynch put up 183 yards himself.

Wilson had 4 INT's, and a 44.3 QB rating.

You take Lynch and the Seattle secondary out of that game, and Wilson isn't even playing in a second Super Bowl to throw that game ending interception.

what is up with the huddle and comparing a 12-14th ranked QB to MJ, arguably the most famous sportsman of all time?

Motherfugging preach!

Anyway, not sure there's a right answer to this question. Franchise QBs will always hold more value than any other position. It will all depend on how you feel you should draft. If you're a BPA guy, you take Watt. If you're a cant win without a good QB guy (which is funny because of the way people here poo on Wilson) you take Cam.

Obviously, this is done with knowing what eah player becomes in the NFL, so I'd take Watt. He's the best defensive player in the NFL and affects almost every snap, whether the stat line shows it or not, which it usually does.

Also, you can't make the argument that the Texans have sucked with Watt, so defenders can't change the outcome of a game that much, and then ignore Cams record as a QB. It doesn't work that way. If Watt gets knocked for not winning more games, so does Cam.

If Lafell was so good, he would still be here. He didn't want to be the main guy. He said it himself.

Shockey? He was here one season.

Olsen was a superb acquisition that for all the grief Hurney receives, is clearly one of the best moves in franchise history.

Steve Smith? Obviously gone, in the same year that we cut him and every other Panthers WR. When did the Panthers do that to Delhomme?

Good but not double trouble (Newton never had them in their prime)? The Panthers literally just about rode Stephen Davis to the Super Bowl.

The Panthers have not had a 1,000 yard rusher since 2009.

You somehow see a "man crush", the fug does that have to do with anything? I see the complete picture. We're still building. We won 2 damn games the year before drafting Newton, and our defense practically had to be rebuilt from scratch through Newton's first season.

Firstly, there are DEs as good or maybe better than Watt in the league. Watt just fit the better profile for marketing. The gap between Watt and Hardy, for example, is not that much. Watt is a good player on a bad team so he gets to rush every down with no team discipline. The same way Kevin Love(NBA) was a supposed super star in Minnesota(Timberwolves), then once he went to play with Lebron, a real superstar, he can barely keep up. Easy to pile up stats when a team is outta contention week 5. I'd take Justin Houston any day over Watt. And, yes, that's the guy who had the most sack last year. He's just not being hyped since he doesn't have the marketing profile that fits the NFL.

So, to answer your question, hell NO! People lick Watt's balls for the same reason they lick Luck's, Manziel's, The Golden Calf of Bristol's, etc. Just propaganda. Don't try to promote your agenda by disrespecting Cam.

Where have you been when Cam was breaking rushing and passing records! Where have you been when Cam was dragging his team to the playoffs! I guess that doesn't matter because JJWAAATTTTTT

Lastly, the Texans have a sh!tty defense, they've ranked bottom 3rd of the league. And, yes, that's with JJ WAAAATTTTT. How this guy keep getting hyped while he plays for team that keep picking top 5 is beyond me.

His team never win yet JJWAAAATTTTT. That's laughable.

I didn't realize it was so easy to show a complete lack of football knowledge in just one post.

But the Texans HAVE JJ Watt and they suck. We don't!

You guys are debating this like Watt is a retired player in the far pass. The dude plays for a team right now that sucks. They call it the Houston Texans. Projected by many to pick top 5 again next year.

The Texans have a better overall record than Cam does as a starting quarterback since 2011 (33-31 vs. 30-31-1). They've had one losing season since 2011.

Haplo must have done an 8 ball before he got on the huddle.

I don't much mind his trolling.

This is offensive to the people joining us today after having done an 8 ball. It takes a lot more than 3 1/2 grams of anything to act that retarded.

This may be the worst post in huddle history, if you are serious and aren't trolling. Regardless I'm going to put it at the top of the thread
