100k per year jobs mean you need to make your company a lot of money. There aren't many of those jobs out there, especially for folks in their 20's. I mean, very very few.

Finance would be my call for you, but even then you will need to get your accounting degree, or at least a masters.

My wife has a marketing degree, a lot of her friends do, they are all still looking for that perfect "marketing" job, and are now in their 30's.

I said after I've been there a while I was talking about like 15 years into the business make that type of money. I'm realistic. Out of college I'll probably be making 45 thousand a year

Not sure where you're planning to live, but I would lower my expectations by about 10k.

Um, that's possible, that would normally put you around the 36-37 age range.  Unless you are living in a huge city, where 100k isn't really 100k, or you are very specialized, this is still going to be hard to do.

I am getting close to that age range, and most of my friends from college are not making that kind of scratch.  Now again, things will change, and with inflation coming 100k in 18 years will not seem like the same, but I'm just talking in today's numbers.

The ones that are making that kind of rub are engineers, accountants, and salespeople.

Could gamble it all and start my own business and make billions (sarcasm) but I have thought about opening my own business after I learned all the trades from the bug corporates that I worked at. But I highly doubt I start a business

Accounting starting pay is $50k straight out of college :P

yeah, but what kind of deranged psychopath wants to be an accountant?  The accounting majors in college were always the weird ones.

Present company excluded, of course.

Can you sum up what accounting is like? What do you do for a day of work?

Accounting?

You take your balls out and place it on the table, take the biggest book you can find and slam your balls with it... You get accounting.

In accounting, especially VP or Controller... You do a lot of feasibility work for business. Calculate risk and make important decisions, close books, audits and etc. sometimes I go out and get hammered and company pays for everything. Sometimes I work 80 hours a week for few weeks.

Yesterday I went to work at 7am and got home around 11:30pm and back to work at 7am.
