Dave Dameshek, an actual analyst?

Recommended Posts

Hey, hey, hey!! What in the actual are you doin? Get that Steeler crap outta here. I don't care if he channeled the late great Johnny U, Steelers get the total of zero fugs given here.

I hate the Steelers with a passion.  But sometimes, you have to recognize when a player is just that damn good.  Bell for them as well.

Well.. He's only an actual analyst when he prints something we agree with. All other times, he's trash like the rest of the media

Dameshek could crown us the greatest team of all time and he'd still be a lousy analyst.

Getting an occasional thing right doesn't help either, regardless of whether it's about us or not.

i know.. but it's funny to call him an actual analyst because he put Cam in the top ten quarterbacks

That happens a lot.

Gil Brandt was hailed as the smartest football guy on the planet when he said good things about Newton, then slammed as old and senile when he later said something mildly negative.  And that's just one of numerous examples.

I have analysts I like and analysts I don't.  I try (try) not to let their opinions about the Panthers and/or Panther players affect my opinion, but since I'm Panther-biased, I probably don't always succeed.

agreed.

and all the talk about how is going to round out the WR corps is kind of silly to me. cam will have pretty much 4 targets that 90% of his passes will go to.

1) benjamin

2) olsen

3) funchess

4) whatever RB is on the field

the rest is incidental.

with an improved OL, cam being healthy, KB with a year under his belt, olsen just being olsen, and the addition of the funchess freak, i think we'll see him ranked very highly by some analysts who will either find themselves eating BBQ crow or pretending that they were on his bandwagon all along.

i don't see him with a poo ton of yards or TDs, but i see him being seen the way many of us already see him...one of the most effective QBs in the league and the hardest to scheme against.

we don't need that speed threat, imo. three giant receivers, good pass catching RBs out of the backfield, cam's ability to improvise and take advantage of holes, and an OL that gives him time and space will be more than enough for defense sto handle.

Is BBQ crow the special kind of crow that national media folks eat?  The kind where they tell you all the reasons that they were right before and how it was impossible to predict such a vast improvement in such a short period of time?  If so, then yes, we'll be seeing lots of "BBQ crow-eating" this coming season.
