Listen up! There are exactly two "safe" Panthers receivers.

Cotchery isn't here so much for his production, but for the leadership in the locker room and on the field.

The Panthers will not cut him just cause there are fans who view him as worthless.

The team values him.

How difficult is it to understand?

Damn. Thought you were gonna have an entire cotchery post without some condescending jab and then i got to that last sentence. Oh well. Good luck with the thought they'd keep a roster spot solely for leadership.

There are a lot of veterans on the team including Cam. I don't think they "need" a old veteran as if most of the players were rookies.

yeah, cause veterans at ither positions are going to be able to help get the most out of/develop our young receivers.

I see the light now. Thank you so much.

I think a lot of you are forgetting that Jordan Todman was brought in to compete for the KR/PR position.  Which means none of the WRs who you thought would make the team based on return duties are safe.

Todman has never been a PR in the NFL. Only a KR.

And considering how few kick returns there are he likely needs to contribute as a RB as well. I don't see us carrying a kick off specialist unless he contributes elsewhere.

Todman has been overlooked it seems by everybody. I'm excited with all the competition that the positions have!

Agreed. There is no way we would carry KR specialist only, but I do believe that KR ability as well as the ability to be a gunner on ST's could break a tie between Todman, Fozzy, Wegher and Reeves for the final RB roster spot. Obviously their ability as a RB is most important but if it's close then who adds the most as a KR would give the edge. I'm not positive on this, but I feel like the goal is to use Ginn as the PR and the 3rd RB as the KR.
