Which 3 New Additions Are You Most Excited About?

1 & 2 - Oher and big Daryl Williams are one and two. If they can anchor the ends of our oline and play well, our oline will be better than most expect, allowing Cam and Stew to have their best year yet.

3) Shaq - Three starting linebackers that can cover? the rest of the NFL better bring their A game, every game.

Artis-Payne. Once Stewart gets his annual case of athlete's foot, jock itch, or menstruation at training camp, he can taking the starting job away from his lazy piano-playing ass.

posts like this show me how little fans truly know of their own team.

Strictly for the 2015 season:

1. Ginn - sorely missed last season

2. Williams - wrong tackle spot but any youth and upside on the line is a plus and if he's as good as Norwell and Turner our line issues are close to solved.

3. Funchess - first legitimate number two receiver since Moose.

Shaq would be on here but I think he's a project that will take time to develop and learn before we really start to see what we have in him. That said, his attitude and the defense around him is ideal for success, unfortunately because our first rounders have been so productive Shaq will probably get labeled a bust if he's not in DROY discussion by Week 8.

Funchess

Ginn

Trusnik

Now to explain my reasoning. Our defense was a top 5 defense down the stretch last season. We all know the reasons it took a while for them to get to that level, no need to list them.

So although I am excited to see just how good this defense can be with our new pieces, there is NO WAY a defensive player can crack my top 3. Our defense wasn't the problem going into the offseason

1) Ginn

It's very simple, we lost games because of poor returning. We also sorely missed his speed and playmaking ability on offense. Ginn is honestly my number one. I have seen him with Cam already and know the difference he makes in field position, which can turn a game.

*He fills two needs, and we know what we are getting.

2) Funchess

Funchess is a versatile "#2" receiver. He can line up anywhere. His time at TE even allows him to line up in the backfield like Brandon Williams or Brockel has before. So much you can do with this guy. Mismatches all over the field.

The only reason he doesn't beat out Ginn here is because our returning REALLY WAS THAT BAD. I honestly don't remember a time before that I felt sick AFTER our defense made a third down stop...

3) Trusnik

This is pretty self-explanatory I think. Special teams being horrible last year is no secret, but I do believe people are undervaluing a solid STs squad. You can really lose games because of poor play here, no matter how well you play in the other two phases.

I believe we would have played in the NFC championship game last year if we already had these pieces. It was too obvious we were lacking in these areas, but if they can catch on, we won't be anymore.

    • What are the matchups, stats and superlatives?   I think this will be a hard game. Bucs are a very balanced team on offense:  7th  in total yards per game, 7th in passing, 10th in rushing. Baker is having another career year even better than last year but despite missing his Godwin and Evans. Bucs defense is poor (29th) particularly passing defense, but we’re also depleted in our receiving with Coker and Sanders likely out. Running Chuba is key but their defense is better against the run. (16th) I think this is likely going to require us to score a lot of points to keep up and hopefully the home field advantage tips the scale in our favor. My other concern is our run defense and being able to stop their rookie study Bucky Irving who the Bucs have shifted more carries to recently and he’s averaging 5.4 ypc and knows how to get into the endzone with 5 TDs so far.
    • This is nonsense and you know it. People will be happy when we are consistently and convincingly winning games against good teams. There are people in here talking down to others after losses and barely beating the terrible NY Giants. If you want to strut around here like only you are a real Panthers fan and rage pooing posts because your jimmies are rustled then hey good luck with all that. I hope you have a lovely Thanksgiving.
    • Who had the massive meltdown last year? Hope they feel better this year.
