Balls + Heater = Low hanging fruit

So, wait a minute; warming footballs up during a cold game is cheating?  I know the Patriots are being children by bring MInny and us into this mess, but is it really a rule infraction?  What about when teams wipe off balls when it rains or if the ball gets wet.  Every team does this, is this cheating as well?  What a bunch of f@#$%^& s!@#.

I mean there's a reason only a warning was given. It wasn't so much blatant disregard for the rules and conspiring to willingly violate them as it was, "it's so f%@$ing cold I can't feel my hands, much less the ball so let's warm it up some."

Also, the ref is the one who wipes the balls off with a towel between plays. Players aren't permitted to.

A ridiculous lawyer might try to argue that since the cold was reducing the pressure in the balls naturally, it was the RESPONSIBILITY of the Panthers and the Vikings to warm up the balls so the pressure would not drop below the allowed range. In my opinion, the Panthers and the Vikings should get an extra compensatory pick for trying desperately to stay within the rules.

Maybe not the Vikings.

Yeah just the Panthers. Just the Panthers.

I mean I'm totally ok with that. This is also the argument I will now be using whenever a Pats fan brings this incident up.

Hierarchy of the Ball Department:

Goodell

Ball Czar

Scuffer

Ball Boy

UPS

Wilson

What about the kickers' special balls? Those balls are so sensitive they can only be handled by one person - where does that person fit into this ball-handling schema?

Honestly surprised both teams didn't get the $25,000 fine and something like a 1 game punishment for the offending equipment guys or whoever. Not that it really matters, but objectively there should have been some minor punishment.

The story came out a couple weeks ago. Both teams were warned not to do that again. Each squad complied. No punishment necessary.

Do the Patriots have texts from a shady ball boy that calls himself "the heater" ?

Ball Boy1 Text: If princess Cam complains about the temperature of his balls one more time, I'm going to make his balls so hot.

Ball Boy2 Text: Lolz OMG SMH hehe

Ball Boy1Text: Like literally he won't even be able to hold them because his balls will be steaming hot. Fug Cam.

Panthers Statement:  "There is absolutely no evidence that employees were tampering with the footballs. The texts are clearly just using "balls" as common slang for testicles. When we travel to cold environments, it is very common for us to have staff on hand to ensure that players' testicles remain warm and toasty."

When your balls are that cold, it's only natural that you do whatever you can to warm them up. It's not something you think about, or plan in advance to do, you just instinctively warm them up the best you can. So, you're in Minnesota in the winter time, your ball are fugin freezing...you're ten feet from a portable heater...you warm them up, no questions asked. Geez!!!
