2008 Week 16 @NYG

when we are a missed kick from having the top record in football

2013 Week 2 @Buffalo pissed me off to no end for most of the week to the point I almost did not go out to watch the next game. Normally I am over it quickly

I'm not gonna include playoff losses because it's just obvious how much they hurt.

That regular season game where they called a wacky special teams throw to Chris Gamble had me like what the actual fug for a cool minute.

Super Bowl was bad, but the AZ playoff game set the franchise in a tailspin.  I had tickets to that game, but had to work.  I'm glad that I worked instead.

the most recent playoff win did a lot to flush the memory of that game away.  people can talk it down all they want but i think it was important for the franchise and fans.

Besides the Super Bowl & playoff losses (all of them), there are 2 Cowboy games that stick in my craw, both home games. One was the game where Romo had his very first start, 2001? We were so utterly horrible against a rookie let alone a Cowboy rookie. I thought that, despite how bad Weinke was, we surely would beat a rookie QB. But, no. The other was the Cowboys game when Peppers was called for running into the kicker on what was actually a blocked FG & we ended up losing. Ruined my Christmas big time. That's when I knew Jerry Jones was paying off the refs. :bling:

Dude how do you mix up Quincy Carter and Tony Romo?

Super bowl

AZ playoff loss

But the one loss that hurt the most was the 2012 Panthers @Falcons....

Panthers took the lead late in the 4th quarter. The game had been back and fourth and Smitty was giving them Hell. I was sitting lower level midfield with my newborn daughter, wife and in laws. Once the Panthers scored their last TD, I was standing up and celebrating. People started throwing food and stuff down at me (I was the only panther in that section). It pissed me off, but we were "gonna win" so it didn't matter.

The next play Ryan throws a 60 yard bomb and they kick a FG to win it. The entire place erupted and I literally was crushed. I had to deal with my Falcon co-workers talk poo to me for weeks before and after that.

There is one thing to deal with a loss on TV, it's an entirely different feeling dealing with a loss in your opponents house in person.

Ohh and then there was this BS...

Hands down the Arizona game.

Yes it sucked we lost the super bowl. But it was a good game. We lost to a good team at the end. Still at the end of the day many people fans came out proud of the team on the Cinderella season.

The Arizona game on the other hand. We were the #2 seed only behind the Giants who we choked at the very end in NY on a Sunday night prime time. We had the epic smash and dash. Had the franchise come from behind QB. Everyone had predicted another close NY Carolina matchup to see who went to the Super Bowl. Coming off the first round bye on primetime at night in front of a hungry fan base. Our "franchise" QB laid the ultimate of eggs which ended up pretty much summing up his career. People didn't leave that game proud of the season just the bad taste in the mouth that many couldn't even get rid of till this past seasons Arizona playoff game where they wanted blood.

People left that game not remembering Jake Delhomme the franchise QB who led us to a Super Bowl and 2 NFC champ games, only remembering that night vs Arizona. Hands down the worst game ever as a panther. After that game we fell rock bottom into the David Carr, Pickles era

    • We aren't ignoring it. We also aren't ignoring the Dallas game, the start of this year, or all of last last year. He won himself a spot on the roster next year and being the presumptive QB1 going into camp. That counts for a lot given where he was.
    • I couldn't watch that game specifically and my take is more in general of course - any team can beat any other on any given Sunday in the NFL. The Chiefs are not juggernauts this year by any means and I'd be shocked if they go too deep in the playoffs, but that is kind of my point; Carolina kicked 4 field goals of 33 yards or less that day. Gotta have TDs against the best to win and even 1 TD instead of a field goal wins that game. Is that all on Bryce? No, and no game comes down to a single play (e.g. the Eagles drop, Chuba's OT fumble, etc). MY point is that I'm not seeing anything yet that projects him above that Bridgewater/Smith level and these game outcomes are exactly in line with that performance trajectory.
    • Happy to see Bryce get better--until we have a top 10 QB, however, you keep shopping.  He has until we find someone better to prove himself. If he lessens the need, he extends his longevity.  That is how it is for all NFL players.
