Oh please. That doesn't make it a disease. Addictions are a result of choices people make. Or in other words, consequences. Something a lot of people here unfortunately have never had. Diseases are uncontrollable and unavoidable. Don't even try classifying addiction with cancer, heart disease, epilepsy, kidney disease, etc.

Good for you. I quit numerous times before finally being done with them. It has been close to 3 years and now I am to the point where the smell is sickening to me. I was at a bachelor party a couple weeks ago and tons of people were smoking. I had a cigar on the golf course but that was it.

I read an article saying about 30-40% of NFL players smoke weed regularly. My question is how come more people are not being caught? Sounds like someone is using fake urine or someone else's urine.

As for Justin Blackmon.... Great talent but is dumb for continuously failing drug test. He knows he needs to be clean to return to the NFL but obviously doesn't care.

I cant look at alcoholism or being addicted to anything else as a disease either. To me it is a mental disorder that if gone unchecked will lead them deeper to the point of no return. They usual see no reason to quit even though there is plenty of evidence that points to the contrary. Sure, if done just enough it can lead to bodily harm in the future. One shot or one puff isn't enough though.

weed is not addictive. go to a psychotherapist and get some anti-depressants and some anxiety medicine...I promise that street drugs and their addiction will be the furthest thing, narcotic wise, you'll be worried about.

I seriously doubt anyone knows what percentage of NFL players regularly smoke marijuana, but I kinda doubt it's as high as some have suggested.

There's talk that anti-depressants have completely missed the mark, and that they only work 30% of the time for people.

I'd recommend a functional doctor to find help before anything else.

I seriously doubt anyone knows what percentage of NFL players regularly smoke marijuana, but I kinda doubt it's as high as some have suggested.

I could maybe agree that the percentage could be used to describe if a player has used it in their life time, but an active player probably wouldn't even risk it.

addiction is a real disease hope you never have to deal with it on a personal level. JB is an alcoholic.

 

I agree that once you are an alcoholic, it is a disease and hard to kick by yourself.

 

However, with the $ resources Blackmon has at his disposal, all it takes it a good treatment program and a little self control and will.  If he wanted to quit, he could.
