Justin Blackmon another failed drug test?

Damn, he just can't leave the liquor alone. Feel bad for the guy, and I hope he's eventually able to beat this. I got fam and friends who can't put down the bottle, so reading about Blackmon and his struggles eats me up. Used to come home from school everyday, and my uncle would already be drunk. Hated seeing it.

Don't even care about his NFL career anymore. He just needs to get clean. Alcoholism is very bad in the AA community, and it's gotten ahold of him.

It's not a fuging disease, stop with that bullshit.

do you wanna come tell me to my face that my grandfather didn't have a disease? I watched him nearly destroy his life and our family for liquor. he freely admitted just before we did an intervention that he couldn't stop on his own.

but no.... that's not a disease.

I wonder if Thomas96 was too convicted of his own poo by that disease statement?....

what a shame dude has HOF talent but his addiction (disease) is ruining his life

Yep I agree THIS DISEASE, is ruining his life. When he started it wasn't a disease, but once a person loses the ability to say no it is. So many people lack compassion to others who have the disease of addiction and just think a person can and should stop. I mean seriously, he has millions of dollars at risk and he can't stop. Yes he is making poor decisions but it is beyond his own power to stop.

This is from drugabuse.gov website. " In reality, drug addiction is a complex disease, and quitting takes more than good intentions or a strong will. In fact, because DRUGS CHANGE THE BRAIN in ways that foster compulsive drug abuse, quitting is difficult, even for those who are ready to do so. "

That's where you're very, very wrong. Don't minimize addiction and what it takes to overcome it.

Oh please. That doesn't make it a disease. Addictions are a result of choices people make. Or in other words, consequences. Something a lot of people here unfortunately have never had. Diseases are uncontrollable and unavoidable. Don't even try classifying addiction with cancer, heart disease, epilepsy, kidney disease, etc.

Your grandfather made the choices he made and whatever issues arose are a result of his choices and his choices alone. He needs to be held accountable, not as if it's some "disease" that's uncontrollable. And I would gladly say this right to your face, your grandfather's face, and whoever else's face you want.

One more thing. If anyone really wants to get educated on addiction and why it is a disease here is an outstanding video on YouTube. It is a presentation by former Navy pilot and current doctor, Dr Kevin T Mccauley. I can't stress enough how awesome this presentation is and you will learn tons if you take the time to watch it. He's even got a good sense of humor so it's not dry and actually very interesting. http://goo.gl/7q9kUV

Get fuged, dipshit. I've lived around addiction of various sorts my whole life. You have no idea of the pain and literal horror this very real physical disease can cause.
